Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Most people doing the bare minimum

Back in the days regardless of how the company treated you there was this camaraderie, all the people at the coal face supported each other.

Today I see unprofessional, borderline stupid people in senior positions, only the old guard seem to want to help, most of the younger staff are in it for themselves. They know next to fu-k all, do the bare minimum, extremely gobby, no standards other than operating under the I know it all mantra.

This is in GIS! This can’t be fixed! They’d need to fire 3/5 of the company to clean out the dross, that is why DXC is in an irreversible state of decline.

This will never be fixed.

If my job role is worth what you pay my colleagues - why can't I get the same money? Company greed and you've been her a while so you'll never leave. Well I might, and meanwhile I'm going to do as little as possible so that my hourly rate matches my colleagues. So I have 2 days a week off, because it seems to me that they also only work 4. They just don't get it do they...!!

The game is how little can you do and still keep your job. Very little indeed is the answer. I stopped at the insult of a pay review last year. As long as you let the mandatory training play through, and fill in a time sheet. Nobody comments that I've not attended daily status meetings for months. They accept the answer still working on it for everything. I found something better to do than just watch YouTube. Is now a war of make me redundant or pay me to do nothing. Clearly they prefer the nothing. Managers need to pretend they have staff to manage after all.

Maybe because we have the absolute worst CEO, CFO and CES lead on planet earth. Maybe if Rahul and Howe hire more of their buddies who no nothing about IT services it will get better…. lol.
Astonishing how bad these guys are. Maybe Rahul can continue to talk more about his other job with his sports teams or even let us see his ridiculous ring one more time.
How about this…. Why doesn’t he do his freaking job and put DXC first. The Board should be ashamed!!!

Meh, keep sending the money, I've not watched all of YouTube yet

That is the post of the year, and is the unofficial motto of most of DXC. It should be the tagline for all DXC comms.

Yup, pi-s taking pay whilst execs laud it high, bureaucracy that stifles everything from sales to ops, obsolete cr-p that can't be replaced or fixed, customers who are just waiting for contracts to end....

Meh, keep sending the money, I've not watched all of YouTube yet.

Why bother? Most people stay at DXC because, frankly, anywhere else would mean going back to an office. That perk alone probably offsets a £5k pay difference. But what leadership hasn’t grasped is this: for a bit more money, most of us would actually want to do a great job.

Instead, we’re stuck in a culture of pay disparity, empty threats, excessive bureaucracy, and head-spinning incompetence. The result? Everyone’s figured out that doing the bare minimum gets you the same outcome as going above and beyond. So really—why bother?

I’m at the end of my career. I’m not chasing another job. I could be useful. I could deliver value. Or I could just muck about pretending to be busy. DXC has made it pretty clear it doesn’t care either way. Just don’t expect a pay rise.

If all DXC did was underpay then I agree people should be professional or leave for another employer.

But its the constant carrot dangling and gaslighting about raises that really pi---s me off and for that I fully support doing fu-k all for this POS company and taking what you can. Its what the execs are doing after all.

So many ex DXC, who are know so jubilantly saying 'leave if you're unhappy'. But do they not know that some of us take pride in doing absolutely nothing for a living, and enjoy ripping off this joke of a company. In the words of dire straits ' money for nothing and your chics for free'. Not sure about the chics, but free money working for a clown company is the future. What say you all?

Oh and as a bonus, you might get made redundant...what a shame!

@nn+1jrmrcbp0 Endless paperwork (spreadsheets) for everything. Then they still do it wrong. They blame us for having filling in the from wrong, and often for using the wrong from - rejected - start again...

I dunno if I believe the networks. Still waiting on my NETSRM requests and firewall rules for months. They say they will get to them eventually. They always give them to inexperienced people to work on. Last time I had to get them to implement a change that breaks, then they all get on an emergency call to figure out the right changes and get them implemented as a high priority fix. Seems the only way to get things done is create a crisis. Crazy.

DXC will strategically loose GIS contracts that are bad for them. over a period of 5 to 10 years DXC will be fine. If you don't need any raises and happy to work from remote nothing beats DXC

Nobody wants to help each other. The new staff get paid more but know sod all. The old guard realised they don't get a pay rise no matter how hard they work. So gave up trying a few years back. If the job is worth what you pay the new guys it's worth it for everyone in that role.

GIS storage isn’t the whole of GIS you we-pon.

The mere fact that you can’t read or understand simple English says it all. The OP is talking about one thing, you’re talking about something random.

I have to agree with the OP. I retired from this organisation some 7 years ago, and still regularly follow the comments posted on this site.
Whilst I support the view that the upper management are undeniably inept, I also have to agree with the assertion that the younger fraternity are lacking in appropriate skills and professionalism, whilst considering they are the finest thing since sliced bread. To earn respect from peers and management, you need to do two things. 1) deliver on tasks you are assigned, with humility. 2) support your colleagues whenever possible, with humility. Note a common thread here? I wish people well, but youngsters aside doubt the upper management care for the company long term.

This is down to the useless Brock, he is fecking over the good workers, his lost all good will. He has tried to replace them with people who have no clue and by hiring useless new folk on more pay and shift allowances in Erskine.

Erskine is so heavy in number of trainee people on full pay he may have opened a free university.

Its leaking money so fast, for people to play pool and other in appropriate activities.

Pay the experienced people their due.
