Contractors v Employees in ABU

I am currently contracting in the ABU. Does anyone know the plan for contractors?

I recently came across some articles discussing the Fair Work Commission case "Helensburgh Coal Pty Ltd v Bartley," which involved a company making employees redundant while retaining contractors in the same roles they could have performed. The FWC deemed this as unfair dismissal saying the employees should have been retained in the contractors positions.

Will employees be able to apply for my role? If an employee who previously held my position applies, do you think I will be let go? Would I be safe if my team is out of scope?

We need to retain flexibility in the ABU workforce, contractors are key to this, especially seeing in many teams they are more reliable and driven than the princesses with blue badges

Don't worry about legal precedent, just keep continuing to show unwavering loyalty to your manager, you ensure their favor—regardless of any evident shortcomings or poor conduct. In doing so, you conveniently reinforce the ABU narrative, no matter how detached it may be from reality.

Some of the answer to your question depends upon which contracting company are you with? One of the corporate goals is the short term is to use contractors where possible and another goal is to consolidate the number of contracting companies to the big contracting companies, so they can minimize the number of contracts . Examples for the IT space are E&Y, Accenture, WiPro, LTI, HCL, etc.
In your job role you may know the big corporations that supply labor. In the field, maybe Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, etc. I am sure there are more contracting firms that provide services.
The overall goal is to reduce costs and raise profits so executives get large bonuses.
