Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Subset get 9 weeks internal redeployment?

How is it decided from among those laid-off, who gets time to look for jobs internally/externally in CPM while being paid? Don’t think everyone gets that chance - but maybe I’m wrong.

@1qji. even if they offer a little bit more to leave sooner(before 2023), you need to calculate your income tax impact since you will be getting a big chunk of money for your 2022 W2 and that may put you in an upper tax bracket. Taxes can be a ki---r.

also, if you leave in 2023 your cobra may be based on your 2023 open enrolment option (choose wisely) and hence, you may want to pick the best possible plan since Intel will pay for it at least for 18 months.

last but not least, if you have a retirement millstone and qualify for it, you will get 1 full year of accelerated options\rsu's so better to leave the latest day possible so you can keep as much as you can on company stocks..

Expect everyone will get it, but they'll likely give some incentive to take severance immediately and not be on-the-books for another 9 weeks.

What if you “volunteered” and just want to exit? If I wanted another Intel job I’d just apply for it.

I believe if you’re put in that CPM pool you get the 9 weeks regardless.
