Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

How much more TOY STORY

For the love of money, STAHP making toys of outdated material just because you have the time rights. Toy Story is dead. Didn’t you learn anything from Snow White. No one went because we’re sick of the same old cr-p being shoved down our throats. Not because some no named little actress has opinions. Ge-z. How many kids have to be delighted to see Apmau cameo in the Minecraft movie before you catch on. Disney is dead and even they know it. Google her name boomers and X-ers and get over it. Ha!

Mattel has been run by men this whole time? Did you get that fact from the Barbie movie?

I don't think anyone is blaming women or saying women shouldn't be hired or run the company. The issue is with the practice of hiring for the sake of diversity in s-x and race as opposed to hiring the best/brightest/most talent, resulting in discrimination and poor performance.

Timing-wise, this practice coincided with the sinking of the ship.

Ok kiddies, male/female, doesn’t matter. You ALL literally su-k at designing toys. If you didn’t the plastic cr-p would be flying off the shelves. Is fun to watch everyone go at each other now that the ship is sinking. It’s comical to watch men complain about women when this company has been run by so-called men this whole time. Haha! Jokes on you fellas! This is all yours!

I love having a female engineer on my team. Her poor work ethic and poor quality of performance really lowers the bar for everyone else. Now I don't feel the need to work so hard. Yay diversity!!

Not for DEI but there wouldn’t be a need for it if people weren't such twatttss and only promoted their backside kissing buddies. Mattel did this rampantly now you’re stuck with overpaid male/female imbeciles. Good job!👍🏼

Are you saying Mattel hires mostly female engineers because they are cheaper?

DEI? More like CIP...

Everything that has happened was based on money. I was laid off because my salary was too high and because I was mostly remote and because I worked on Barbie.

I'd say an 8. It's bad, but it could be worse I guess.

For example, when announcing a summer intern class, HR openly brags about the % of the class that are black, along with the % of STEM positions that went to females.

In the case of females in STEM, they celebrated that it was 75%. Seriously? Okay, what percentage of students/applicants in those fields are female, and how do you end up with 75% without discrimination? And what was the goal? 100%??

On a scale of 1-10, how bad would you say Mattel's DEI hiring policies were/are?

With a 1 being the NFL Draft and a 10 being Harvard's affirmative action admission standards?

This is what happens when you gut an American company and move almost all of the design and engineering to China. Any creativity still left in the company gets smothered to death by the machine that is Mattel. But keep hiring based on race, s-x, and s-xual orientation instead of talent and maybe things will get better. Or maybe moving everything to India will turn things around.

Everything I’ve been thinking as well. Enough with Toy Story already.
