They’re wanting to sacrifice 5 of us, some are saying they’ll take a buy out, but where does that leave the rest of us? Everyone in the company thinks CO techs don’t do anything, but then you have the lateral techs, who don’t do jack sh-t, they both report from home and do absolutely nothing but hang a fiat once a month, why do we need them? This place is a circus.

I am a splicer in Iowa and i have worked with about 5/6 of yall and I have gotten along with y’all fine…all great guys!!, and i hate to see the company doing this to you, but its not Travis or John’s doing. so be pi---d at the company for not valuing your efforts or jobs.
I have only met John a handful of times and he has help a lot and I appreciate everything he has gone out of his way to do. Travis I will defend tooth and nail, as he has made mine and constructions jobs easier with his willingness to ALWAYS help and go the extra mile.
Y’all are throwing them under the bus based off what little you see or another jaded tech tells you. I have seen the contributions and effort they put forth and its value is 10 fold.
That’s not true at all, the laterals have been a huge support for the splicers and linemen in Iowa. I can personally vouch for the 2 i know. It’s very unfortunate that they are removing positions but it’s no reason to throw other people under the chopping block . They have families to support the same as you.
those 2 Latt techs has helped tons of people and yall just sh-t on them , not sure why all of you are all jealous . Travis and John has helped everyone . They help splicers out daily on all there builds and fixing all the new fiber troubles . They drive across the state all the time without complaining. So I'm not sure why all of you are bashing on them .
@j9+1jraxpn5n Yeah you have to be either one of those two because you’re full of sh-t, they pulled their GPSes years ago and I’ve never seen another tech park their sh-t at home every night, not occasionally, every damned night.
Don’t downplay what they do because it’s not normal, it’s text book fraud waste and abuse. No one is accountable for them, they have managers on paper only, they don’t show up on their stats they don’t get calls about them because no one is watching them, it’s the perfect scam, if you think that’s normal and defend it, if you’re not either or them, I hope you enjoy the unemployment line while those two are pretending to have a job.
@fr+1jraxpn5n Oh please, let’s not have techs on here dissing other techs for taking advantage of situations that present themselves or just never leaving the house. You all do it and it’s well known…by everyone. There’s plenty of techs getting paid while hustling a side thing. Your trucks have gps.
John and Travis both, two peas in a pod, robbing this company blind and getting paid for it. I doubt Windstream gets 80 hours of work from these guys in a years time.

Good ol Mediacom John knows how to play the system and hang out at his farm 90% of the time. This is allowed due to LM's being clueless of what is going on. Those guys are too busy hanging out at home. Two of the LM's live in different states and rarely make it to Iowa.
I think I know who you’re talking about, he comes over to New Hampton at least once a week to spread the company gossip and talk trash about everyone. He’s always telling me how often and how far he drives, fills up his bucket truck 3x a day, him gone alone would save 3 tech jobs money wise.

The two youre talking about are narcs for Terry Lockhart, they do much but they report everything anyone says back to him. I’m not even sure they have real job titles.
