Why do people still believe companies are loyal to them. Wake up! They answer to stockholders. Always be marketable or better yet don’t be owned.
NO
If government workers with LEGAL protections making it ILLEGAL to fire them are being fired anyway, none of us have job security.
If you’re on an H1B visa, you seem to be relatively safe. It appears they are making an effort to retain H1B employees over U.S. citizens.it’s unclear what percentage of H1B holders were affected by the layoffs compared to U.S. citizens.
No your never safe, Nothing is guaranteed and Jobs come and go with many factors weighing in. Some companies layoff 10% a year usually low performers or roles no longer found value added, they shake the tree and replace in a lean fashion. If you thought it couldn’t or would never happen, you have been living in a dream world. Two huge companies merged and there were a lot of overlaps, followed by market changes, political fruit basket upset. It’s gonna keep happening everywhere, always assume you’re replaceable. That’s reality. There’s still overlap even after all the layoffs that have happened. keep your resume up to date, keep your skills sharp, be a team player, and buckle up.
No.

Keep your skills up to date and take advantage of company training and incentives to learn new ones. Make sure you have a safety savings account. Try to reduce personal discretionary spending now and prepare for the global recession that will hit soon if tariffs aren’t rescinded this week.
