Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

CST’s and D2D

So now since CST’s can’t refer sales to the D2D group the CST’s have started trying to run off the D2D Reps and CST are even putting out flyers and signs to get customers to call them and not the D2D reps. And some techs are going as far as lieing to the D2D reps telling them that the fiber in an area is not turned on yet just so they can try and sell all the new fiber addresses and take money away from the D2D reps. They really need to fix the referral program completely if you need proof just go to Aberdeen NC and see what The CST their is doing.

I worked in NOC until my position was no longer needed and went to assignments. Complete nepotism! Wasn't the knowledge you brought to the table but who your good buddy was Went to Care department...worst mistake of my working career! They should call it for what it really is...Sales. They lie and tell you about all the money you will make and give you a paycut on your hourly. Then they give you two monthly quotas, a sales tracker, a customer tracker and if you don't make your "goal" for a bad month of sales put you on a PIP. It's a joke anymore. The company has gone downhill.

The work environment is toxic and directors gas light so yeah it’s a terrible place to work. I’m looking for employment in other places because I’m tired. I don’t see them lasting much longer because sales leadership is being greedy and pushing for unrealistic expectations yet again… they have recycled the same tired ideas year over year and it’s sad to watch. If leadership, and I mean all leadership was switched out for ppl that know what’s going on it wouldn’t be as bad as it is. I hate to see them tear the place apart and get rid of ppl they need but hey they not the brightest of ppl at the top.

This is to faze sales out the door. They figure the CST is out doing a job in a certain area and might as well hit up the nearby houses for new services or upgrades.

Windstream is such a toxic place. My advice, leave as quickly as you can if you have a good job offer. I left a year ago and it’s been by far the best decision I’ve made.

Techs should be able to sell small deals. Have Enterprise field teams focus on larger new logos.
