Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

From ethical to invaded…

CIGNA used to be a be a well run company with ethical standards that retained loyal employees who dedicated 20-30+ years of their lives and are now being indiscriminately booted because the company wants to save a buck by hiring cheap foreign workers who have no loyalty to our country or the company. No loyalty! The company has been invaded like our country, and it’s being taken over from within.

Everyone here needs to write your congressman, your senators, and your local press.

If it is cheaper to hire foreign labor, they will. It's just capitalism.

The thing most people don't realize is, the government is PART of capitalism, not outside of it. Think of it as a business and you are a share holder.

Anything the government does for you, that is also just business, just capitalism. So tell the government, lets make this illegal, or lets tax foreign labor to the point of being as or more expensive as domestic labor.

So make your five calls. And then make a sixth one to the newspaper and spread the word.

“If being a woman or veteran takes precedence over merit, then yes.”

Okay just ignore the last part I wrote that says the interviews are exactly the same so there’s no bias.

One thing is being against offshore hiring because that negatively affects all Americans but I’m tired of people blaming DEI for everything. You’re against women and veterans having jobs?? The only difference is opening pipelines to find resumes of different backgrounds. The interviews are literally the same, I’ve done them and we have to read off a script and do them all exactly the same so there’s no bias.

Between the continued push for DEI, off-shoring hiring and lay-offs it’s becoming clear that Cigna wants to die on the preverbal sword. Meanwhile, other businesses are taking this, once in a lifetime opportunity, to take advantage of the Golden Age and MAGA. Lay-offs are hitting all areas it looks like -hold the line, for the severance package is the plan.

I was there for the Transformation debacle that caused Cigna to lose 44% of its stock value in one day. I was responsible for trying to put a positive spin on the off shoring and layoffs, which is one of the main reasons I left. It felt so dishonest.

I’m a 30+ year Cigna employee. You must not have been around in the early 2000’s when they first started outsourcing (Satyam) and the debacle of Transformation. Job eliminations were a routine event. This is SOP for Cigna.

If you look at any resume for a perspective HIH person, the max they stay IN ANY POSITION, is usually 2 years. It is part of the culture there. The churn will destroy productivity.

HIH will displace more and more jobs until all our work is performed outside the US. The wicked witch must go.

What they are doing is literally TREASON.

This is illegal, and Americans should all be insisting that the people responsible for this be held accountable for this illegal activity!

"treason /trē′zən/
noun

The betrayal of allegiance toward one's own country, especially by committing hostile acts against it or aiding its enemies in committing such acts.

The betrayal of someone's trust or confidence.

The offense of attempting to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance, or of betraying the state into the hands of a foreign power; disloyalty; treachery.

Similar: disloyalty treachery

All of this started with HIH. I never believed a word they said when they axed whole divisions of people and claimed "HIH had nothing to do with this".
