The total lack of common sense used in selecting which individuals to layoff completely shows how inept the leadership making the decisions are. It's one thing to have a 10% RIF and use it to get rid of your lowest performers. But when you allow the most Sr leaders to use a chainsaw and not even allow managers to decide who to let go so you at least ensure the company is left with the highest performers, everyone remaining is set up to fail. They completely ignored people with multiple HR complaints against them or people that have been pulled from work because of complaints & they lacked the skills or were totally incompetent. Those people are safe because they su-k up to the managing director who is making the decisions. What does he care that a 10% RIF in staff actually reduces the effectiveness of his org by 30% when he's still surrounded by a bunch of people that love him & are happy to say "WHATZ UUUUPPP??!!!"
