Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate has been a mess for a long time

The company stopped caring about you when they made one of their defining principles “transparency”. Despite making it a “priority”, they strung you along in 2020 for many months while you didn’t know if you’d be retained, without being truthful in how that process would be handled. They then started telling you all about “transformative growth”, another marketing sham to hide its actual intentions. This company has no direction, poor leadership, and isn’t forthcoming to its employees, while in the same breath telling you that are they are transparent. The past few years have been a failure from many standpoints, but most notably, their employees don’t seem to understand what direction that company is headed whatsoever.

The issue I had for quite awhile was that nobody cared. I had the feeling nobody cared while working for the company however when it came time to leave, I wasn’t asked why? I was with them for 16 years. Nobody ever asked any questions. I find that extremely bizarre. I was a high paid employee. This company doesn’t care why you leave? ESP. For an employee that learned a ton of skills and will take those skills elsewhere? What a bizarre philosophy. What a strange company. I knew this company was strange when I joined a new company and a very low level employee quit and was called right away by management and HR. That person was asked exactly why they left. AS is in a very bad place, clearly. Go look at their stock too.

Absolutely. I left because of the mixed messages. My manager even told me it was best to move on, which shocked me. I worked in claims in CT. What a disaster that Rocky Hill office turned out to be. I am glad they are now remote!
