Thread regarding USAA layoffs

New Commander and cheif

The grand illusion of change, like putting a fresh coat of paint on a sinking ship. A new leader, same playbook, different slogans—what an innovative strategy! Promises of revolution, but somehow, déjà vu remains undefeated. Turns out "new era" is just a rebranded sequel to the same old script. Hope you enjoy the rerun; I hear the plot twists are recycled. Major cost cutting exercise will accelerate post Summer

To the person that posted, "I can tell you that you are bloated. Huge employee base relative to your revenue. Cuts are needed."

do we have too many people? Or do we have too many bloated processes? Frankly, i think we don't have enough people with all the cr-p we have to do.

Let’s hope for more EMGs and C-Suite leaders like Gen Robles — a true people’s champion.
Leaders like him inspire trust and unity, and that’s exactly what we need more of.
Imagine the positive change if more followed his example!
This holiday, I’m not wishing for gadgets or toys.
Just more leadership rooted in integrity and heart.
That would be the best gift of all.

Once I started interacting and working senior execs, I learned that they are just figureheads. The BOD is the ruling power at USAA.

Nothing will change until they are removed and replaced with fresh blood.

This board is getting old. Give the guy a chance. As a former USAA employee who now works at a smaller firm, I can tell you that you are bloated. Huge employee base relative to your revenue. Cuts are needed.

Maintaining a culture of record low employee morale! Gen Robles is turning in his grave right now seeing how the morale of his employees is all but gone.

I remember one of Bob Davis’s last quotes “the bonus is a gift from the BOD, if it were up to me you’d get nothing.” His was gone a few months later, and when they announced that change, you could feel the hanging black cloud move away. That was one of Gen Robles promises, to improve employee morale, and he did a fantastic job of doing that.

His opening note talked about maintaining our culture… sounds like 5 day RTO is coming. How tone-deaf can you be, this will ruin the culture because people will leave in droves. Perhaps what they want.

Sure, the company is obviously dying, but what does super bowl champion Rob Gronkowski have to say about it?
