There’s no real reason to bring people back to the office for any number of days each week, other than making us so miserable that we’ll want to leave on our own. Sure, hybrid makes our individual lives a bit easier to manage compared to the full RTO mandate, but that’s not the point of the policy, at least not from leadership's perspective.

Trying to work in the office today but can’t concentrate due to some je-k having a phone call using the loudest voice possible. What is the point in RTO again? So none of us can concentrate on work?
So, the mandatory return to office was only forced on people they want to quit, and the rest are secretly still working remote 100% of the time? Is that what is really going on?
There is no mandatory RTO planned unless it’s a secret among the top few. In this economy, people would su-k it up before quitting. The only guaranteed way to get rid of headcount cost - which they need to appease shareholders - is through RIFs.
It depends on where you work. There are some centers that are far too small to accommodate RTO beyond what it already is.
Mandatory RTO in order to get rid of people does not make any sense. They want to RIF associates who have been there a long time and make the most money. Those are the same people who will not quit with mandatory RTO.
Yes mandatory RTO is coming soon. Three days a week in the office for everyone. It’s one of the ways to get the 40% decrease in staffing they are looking for. RIFs, RTO and AI
I too, believe it's to make employees miserable.
I will be shocked if the RTO policy did not change soon, I fully expect it to increase to three days or more. Besides the fact that nobody likes it, it just doesn’t make sense for the majority of the people who have team members across the country and no one in their local office who has any interaction role with them. It’s a colossal waste of time and it is a huge morale su-k
"There's no real reason...other than making us so miserable that we’ll want to leave on our own."
You just hit the nail on the head with that statement, OP.
Is there a mandatory RTO coming?
