Seeing this was a hot topic in another thread -- how much of your day is actually spent in Powerpoint and what are your thoughts about that?
If I'm not in back to back meetings, I'm working on a powerpoint. I hate it. It's super embedded - people have said they now think in powerpoint where I'm at.
I spend about half of my time in powerpoint. Sadly, this is because self service data visualizations and all of the technical piping to get those done need airbrushing. Management here really likes to turn math into art.
Hours upon hours wasted on PowerPoint. Would spend hours on a PowerPoint and boss wouldn’t be happy with it. She would send me an email”example” of what she wanted and mine were identical but still not good enough. The PowerPoint was used has a hazing technique. Ridiculous
I commented in the other thread. It's ubiquitous and all-consuming. The VP at my old company would have beat me over the head with a keyboard if I sent him half the PowerPoint cr-p I produce here. PowerPoint has its place, but if you can't understand a simple concept without visual aids, you're too d-mb to be in a leadership position.
