To the mo--n above who blames Trump and Musk AND had the audacity to say there was GROWTH these last three years, I was part of the huge layoff in July. The rug was ripped out from under me and many others. And who was Prez then??? You are an ignorant dbag. Stop dragging politics into this mess that Windstream created. Three years of growth. LMAO

Did you just now figure that out? 🤣
When is the latest huge layoff going to happen?
Knew this was coming as soon as the orange goon stole the election with his best buddy Enron Husk who just happens to own a sh---y broadband company. Welp, hope y’all enjoyed the 3 years of growth, back to Trump era bankruptcy Windstream.
The handwriting is on the wall with this company. They realize without the government free money it’s a matter of time until this ship sinks. Employees are starting to blow up their life rafts.
Drain the WS swamp is epic and I agree.. if the correct ones are let go it will make a drastic change in things around here. I won’t say it can’t be worse but as soon as I do it will! We have way too many people in positions that don’t need them because they know nothing and do nothing except invent new ways to micromanage and control.
Just read between the lines with communication. Some top brass will soon be gone. If the right ones go, it will be a game changer. Too many are in their positions for the wrong reason. It is perfect timing to drain the swamp.
@dc+1jqsq1wyb - well said
Funny when borrowing cost rise Windstream / Unit stock seems to tank. And with the new administration not so keen to keep spending money on the endless broadband pit - well it will be interesting where this stock goes or why fi anything but down.
The underinvestment in network and prioritization of dividends was 100% the board. They refused to consider anything else and Jeff carried the water for them until he finally had one too many bad acquisitions (seriously think Paetec was the nail in the coffin for him).
Tony stepped into a basically impossible situation. The network was in such bad shape at that point that we financially were never going to get caught up. The bankruptcy actually let us get most of the way there. Unfortunately, it put us in the hands of private equity, and they are going to package us with Uniti to sell the combined company.
I think the problems were they weren't ready for change after 2008. Between Tony taking over after Jeff left and the bad acquisitions they did. Technology changed but WS and it's network was entombed in old dead or dying Technology. If they'd of planned ahead and stopped worrying about dividends maybe they could of invested in the network. Tony the axxountant took over and him and his buddies saw dollar signs for bonuses. The WS different technology buzzword era didn't start until it was way too late.
It all starts to make sense when you understand that wind stream is not a telecommunications company but a financial scheme. The top dogs don't know or care how to deliver a quality product, they only know how to collect the money, borrow against it, move the shells around, blow a little smoke here, prop a mirror there, and reap the rewards.
Did you just figure this out?
The company name change will not change anything. It will just set us up for the next M&A.
We can only hope
Windstream name will be gone soon...and Unity will follow suit shortly after that
