U.S. Bank Eco challenge

I find it hilarious that the bank wants us to participate in an Eco challenge as if they actually care about the environment.

Especially considering they are making everyone drive back into the office with their gas cars.

Heck, I am even afraid to drive my Tesla with all the vandalism happening.

I find it hilarious that whining and complaining is coming from a Tesla owner.

Kidding. It's fully expected.

Unless the Bank is paying, I support small businesses in the area where I live, not the massive chains located near my office.

@ Butteredpiglet my silent protest to this whole thing is to spend as little as possible as a result of RTO. I am privileged to have a shorter commute than those in some cities and I have a gas efficient vehicle. So I have to get gas a hair more frequently but I only do so in my own neighborhood. But as far as eating out and such? Nope. I bring my own food. You can force me back in but I flat refuse to patronize any businesses outside of my normal needs unless absolutely necessary. It's not my responsibility to revitalize areas, so I won't.

The whole point of RTO is to revitalize downtowns under the guise of "But you'll collaborate with your coworkers! You need the interaction 5 days a week!!" No, No we don't.

The only people pushing for RTO were the middle managers who need to show/feel important by showing in office "leadership" and CEOs who can't get past the boomer mindset of being loyal to a company.

It's not my responsibility to revitalize a downtown because my job was made remote. A 30-60 minute commute each way , to pay for parking/Public transit 5x a week isn't needed, but they'll push it for the sake of "Cooperation, innovation and camaraderie". BS.

There's very few jobs where that's actually applicable. I'm an office worker /analyst/ anything other than dealing with life or death decisions/ on the ground fixer for problems.

I was set to be RTO. I would have to find a cubicle, log in at 6am bc of time zone, be the ONLY West Coast person on my team, my closest teammate being 1100 miles away, yeah I would've felt REALLY part of a team 😂. Eat my a-s.

Allowing work from home in situations where that makes sense and has worked for YEARS is the simplest and easiest way for the bank to contribute positively to protection of the environment. This especially makes sense in situations where people forced to RTO are in now in offices where nobody they ever interact with is co-located. Commuting 50-60 miles a day to sit at a different desk "in the office" to work on your laptop and interact with people around the country via Teams is completely ludicrous.

This is as asinine as the GenAI Idea challenge going on right now, where we can provide suggestions on how to ‘streamline manual tasks’. As if I’m giving them ideas to take away work from me or my colleagues. Unbelievable.

Eco challenge? Let employees work from home, thereby reducing their carbon footprint, relieving roadway rush hour congestion, and raising employees' overall well being.

Nah, the heck with that. The floggings will continue until morale improves.
