Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Looks like a voluntary round would be a big hit

So many folks seem to want to be laid off. So why not have a voluntary round? It's a win-win. People who want severance can get it, and people who want to stay don't have to worry about being cut. I'm among those who'd jump at the opportunity to receive severance and get out of here as fast as possible.

Look at the states they have you in and their labor laws. All they have to do is say bye bye!

Diffinately need to do a voluntary severence round to get job openings they could fill in the hubs. Also would get higher salaries off the expense books. That would be in the company's best interest not really the employees. Its only roughly a yr salary for most long term employees saving the company 3 or 5 times the salary depending on the years the employee will stay without the offer.

Yes! Please offer voluntary severence to all wfh employees. Let us go and replace us in the hubs. Put us out of our misery. The not knowing how long we will have a job is excruciating.

Pull your policies dude! You are contributing to the problem! I understand needing a job to pay the bills and riding it out to the pension but damn, save yourself thousands and pad your 401K, pay off a car, vacation fund....just don't give Execs another $24 million dollar bonus or make an agent a millionaire off your hard work! Tell your friends, family, he-l anyone that will listen, stay away from the SNAKE FARM!!!!

After 3 decades I would gladly go for a little incentive….. this is nothing like the company I went to work for. I used to be proud to say who I worked for and at one time felt like it would be a good place maybe for the kids but I would disown them if they came here now, I truly felt the biggest change came with EOM and closing all the claims offices.
I often think of changing all my insurance to another company after many decades because of what I see…..especially in homeowners…..I have had friends who needed a roof after a storm and either got denied or cancelled after it was paid?!….after ONE claim.
I still give 100 percent everyday but am not sure I’m gonna make it.

Yes you are correct, your mental health, your physical health, your family and anything else to do with you is your problem and not State Farms! They could not care less! Your decisions, choices and life are yours and yours alone! You choose to be at work and who you work for! They do not lock the doors and/or drag you into the building/computer each day. It's your problem! It is a given, Executives lie, cheat and steal from all the people below them! Don't blame your TM etc.... they have zero power or authority, nothing....and just do as they are told or they loose their job too! Paid to do a job that they either do or choose not to do. Same as you! All your personal issues are not their problem! Get over it! The purpose of a business is to work and that is it! Government, companies, other people, society, your boss, religion, coworkers do not owe you anything and if you are waiting for those things/people to make you happy you will be waiting until they close the lid on your casket! Su-ks, but toughen up buttercup!

SF MGMT IS JUST LIKE POLITICIANS! THEY ALL LIE, STEAL, SNEAK, WITHHOLD INFORMATION, AND ONLY THINK OF THEIR OWN BENEFIT. NOT ONE GIVES A SH-T ABOUT YOU, YOUR FAMILY, OR YOUR PHYSICAL OR MENTAL WELL BEING. TAKE THAT TO THE BANK! THEY'RE CROOKS AND NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

@e8+1- I looked up your employee file. You really don’t believe your comments are anonymous do you. And yes I know you are retired but your file, along with your pension info is there until 20 years after you pass.

Agree with that. I'm so tired of the countless questions over and over. Training and retraining people. Calls from other departments that I have to explain to them that what they are calling about is their job to handle. Its a total joke.

Do whatever they have to. Remember they don't own you. You are free and their opinion and attempt to control you is just BS. They love to think they have power over you.

The low performer needs to go! Over the last 10 years we have basically hired every rejected fast food worker, burnout retail flunkies, and checked every DEI box you can check. We have a complete and incompetent workforce that is riddled with ADA and FMLA every time they fa-t! Im tired of showing people how to basically learn how to write a denial letter or demonstrate basic reading skills they should have learned in the 5th grade! They are still asking me the same questions they did 3 years ago! Stupid and lazy! Sorry, but I'm tired of cleaning up their mess and having to bailout their work! TMs try but HR blocks them at every turn. HR is a huge problem as they created their own little Empire! Hire the worst and do your best to block the firing! Keeps them in business and gives them way too much control! Systems has done the same thing for years controlling the narrative and tech capacity at SF. Please offer severance so those that actually try and work hard can leave this place with a nice cushion and go somewhere else!

This is what they do. While going after the weak performers they ride the higher performers as well so they don't appear to be going after just one person. Instead of being a good leader and helping/guiding that person to become a leader they go on a full blown power trip. Yep this is your leadership while those who are all mouth desk jockey leaders can't even clean their own house and mow their own lawn. All mouth and no A$$ to back it up. Oh do I know them all too well after decades of working for them. Just look at the personal life they live. Alcoholism, substance abuse and infidelity is not uncommon.

Hearing same. They are coming down on tm's to get rid of the low performers. No severence. Voluntary and forced moves to other areas and / or other departments. All for their new bull sh-t line "price and ease" blaming employees for our low customer service. Going to make things very hard on employees to force them out. More one on ones, more sidexsides, more nit picking everything we do. Listening to our calls. Picking our work apart because its the employees fault we are going to #2, not the direction of the company, not the lack of knowledge of the new hires, not the fact that customers can't dial direct any longer. This place is truly a joke. Has to be the worst ran company of all time. When I tell people that we have to fill out for vacation over a year in advance, they are shocked and laugh at the ignorance of that. When I tell them I can't get off on a holiday, they say but you've been there 30 years and they laugh at the stupidity of it. Truly the shittest company of all time.

Severance is the right thing to do, but you're more likely to be on a fake PIP soon instead if you've been here for 15, 20, or more years like many who are over 50 years old are getting. Pretexting employees as "low performers", then trying to push them out instead of dealing fairly and honestly with them is the game they're playing.

Given the concern coming from my TM who’s been with the company for several decades, layoffs are likely coming. If you are a low performer, tighten it up NOW. The first thing they are doing is looking at your DID numbers, your idle time and returning voicemails. Next they will be going through everyone’s claims to nitpick and make you fail your quality review surveys so they can write you up and fire you. They will be putting a lot of stress on all of the TMs and claim reps in hopes people will quit so you will see a lot of goal posts moving, it’s already starting. The execs at the top are panicking for some reason over progressive taking the number one spot. Newsflash: when I worked for progressive and Allstate they both said they were number 1 lol. It’s all arbitrary but they’ve lost money and need to recoup it somehow and one of the first things they’ll do is fire people at the bottom to cut their expenses.

First of all, most people who are calling for a severance package probably have an unrealistic idea of what it will be.

Wish list: 6 months of pay with full benefits for each year if service.

Reality: Less than 5 years, nothing. Each year thereafter, 2 weeks of pay for each 5 years of service.
