Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Texas CEO fired for legislative blackmail.

It’s all over the Texas news sources.

TX CEO took one for the team. We all know he did not act alone. Sarah's spin was priceless. She really needs to read up on Centene's Core Values. I am sure the CEO's severance pkg. was significant, with a few more zero's for his silence. Lost GA Medicaid and now TX will be under a magnifying glass with TX HHS and rightfully so. Sad for the SHP staff who truly care for the members, if we loose this business. There will be no large severance pkg. for them if layoffs follow.

If trust is a core value, and Sarah touts the core values in her email…

Maybe go ahead and admit Griffin was a Centene company and Mark took one for the team and is so rich he never has to work again instead of all the BS coming from the top of Centene. Non of them NEED to work.

I bet the Attorney General won’t take kindly to platitudes about core values when the Centene leadership lies to their own employees and pretends its some isolated incident in Texas from a rogue CEO.

I was waiting for London's response and she came through with the "member focused"
spin as anticipated. Loved her sharing Centene did nothing wrong??? This is a very bad look for Centene and will wait to see the impact of future business for Superior.
This is all over the local news in Texas and very negative.

I thought about mentioning the Sarah London response, but it is a joke. Google searches gone too far, trust is our core value, serving the community, rrriiiiight.

Shocked no one has mentioned the email from Sara London addressing this.

This explains why the TX plan was dropped from shared services so abruptly. It would open the doors to an investigation to all states in shared services, and they can't have that!!

Griffin’s contract is a corporate contract. Someone at corporate owned it, not Superior. And because the committee had the email from Mr. Sanders requesting the services in question and the files Griffin’s company put together, bet the AG has a lot information on other activities too…….and it all went though St. Louis HQ not Austin HQ.

“ Investigators from the Griffin Personnel Group, a Missouri-based firm that specializes in employment verification, background checks and contract security services, also attempted to obtain the divorce records of Sen. Charles Schwertner, R-Georgetown, just a few months after his wife filed in early 2019, according to the documents.”

So he ordered them from a company that happens to be based in the same city as Centene HQ…

I’m wondering if the Ohio One was fired for similar reasons…..this would cause scrutiny to all states contracts.

Centene was approving the checks being cut to the private investigators, 100%. Sacrificial lamb because he got caught. Will still never have to work another day in his life while the Texas employees get sc--wed.

2 Plan CEOs were fired within a week. Somehow, the board at Centene is completely incompetent. Firing needs to start at the top, but instead, the CEO and CFO got massive pay raises. Massive fu-k up by MFN hiring Sarah instead of a leader with actual healthcare experience in delivering and providing care. Too many CPA's at Centene are leading everything from health plans, clinical, and quality divisions, and you wonder why we have such poor performance.
