Thread regarding Morgan Stanley layoffs

I was laid off 4 years ago

I was with the firm > 19 years and was given an ok title making slightly north of 200k, while offering 180k base to my new hire, an exhibition of how much loyalty was worth (actually loyalty in HR’s eyes means you can’t find a job elsewhere)

I’m still in close touch with 6 other former colleagues who were laid off in the same round, all of us are making more than what we would have been making had we not been laid off.

So, guys, it’s a blessing in disguise.

Try GS, BAC, WFG, C, JPM, UBS, BCS, HSBC, TD, even some regional banks, they all pay and many of them pay more than what MS convinces you about your worth

Same situation….definate blessing. God brings good out of bad. Much happier away from that culture of micro management power point presentations. Tough to go through but you come out the other side as a better person and different perspective on work and life!
