Anybody else receive a retention bonus to stay? The wording seemed a little weird, stating that it’s contingent on meeting company goals before the spin. Feels like if the sub segments don’t make their operating plan, we won’t get any payout.

Stay only to be tossed out later when it suits them. Woe betide the rube who believes anything from HR or management.
It sounds like Honeywell is requiring a contract for you stay for a retention bonus with an option to NOT pay the bonus based on performance contingencies you likely have very little to no control over. Maybe it's time to beat the crowd and leave.
