Some of you really deserve a daily "bless your heart" for your naivete. Get it out of your heads that layoffs/reorganizations/or however you want to call them will ever end. They will not. They might slow down occasionally, but if you're waiting to feel safe again, you need to change companies.

"OP is correct. Layoffs/binge hiring cycles in the 90's/00's were driven by price cycles. 2015 was also a price cycle. 2020 was planned removal of boomers and the first true long-term downsizing of the company. It had nothing to do with COVID or related price cycle, those were just used as excuses. 2025 continues the fundamental and planned decline of the company."
it is more like pillaging or theft for the immediate gratification of the top
it leaves a very weakened company with less or no future
This one may be different but they will all be like this from now on until this company is gone. It’s sad.

MW is only interested in producing the reserves of known assets, with an occasional (Hess) acquisition to prop-up production. Many here and in other topics are correct, Chevron will never again be a shining star in the industry, by SR's own design.
This one’s different. The focus on hypocritical accountability. The deep level of cuts. People don’t realize that overall is 20%. But that includes adding Indian headcount. So the cuts will be much deeper in the US. The leadership wandering/leading with no or bad direction. This one’s different.
My naivete got the best of me….
Thanks for that info……
