Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

INTC is now not a tech company

It is a PC company, Political Correctness for WSJ and FED. Annoying LAYOFF makes FED happier.

Wasn't it BK that accelerated all the DEI spending and programs? Only to be fired two years later cause he was stuffing a female in his own organization? All that virtue signalled at the same time he was ignoring company policies... Well he got his 15 seconds of fame I guess.

There is a way to eliminate the preferential treatment for females, URMs, and LGBTQ+ while simultaneously responding to blowback:

  1. Eliminate all hiring preferences (including paid personal referrals which propagates the status quo)
  1. Fire all the DEI officers and HR personnel currently focused on agitating for any group of people other than the best and brightest possible.
  1. Teach management and HR how to discern who the best and brightest talent are. Given some of the retention and termination decisions made in the past, they could benefit from some improvement here.
  1. Donate to the Harlem Success academy and other institutions that actually improve the learning of URMs so they are ready for college and can help Intel (or other companies) succeed. Our public school system is cr-p, and URMs suffer disproportionately in those schools.
  1. Eliminate the programs that celebrate, prop up, or otherwise favor women. They now attend college in greater numbers than men. And contrary to false claims, they make an equivalent amount of money for an equivalent amount of experience and work. So this checkbox is checked.

I remember all the calls I got from my VP asking why if some middle of the road female as well as an ERM we’re capable to be promoted as well as a GL for me. Conversation wasn’t about who was the best or most deserving just if they would be capable and like magic I got extra quota for promo and heavily encouraged at who to select as my next GL.

No wonder this company continues to sink to ever lower levels

I was a manager there when it all started. First came targets for females and minorities. We asked HR , what about hiring the most skilled candidate? HR says, 'we are not asking you to hire inferior candidates... But if you find two equally qualified candidates, hire the female'. What happened to meritocracy, the foundation of Intel? Do not try to bend the spoon, that is impossible. Only realize that it is you that must bend.

I just wish they’d stop with the PC cr-p. Though I feel like it was way worse under Swan. As said below, everything on merit alone. Probably won’t layoff low performers because they’re DEI

If PG is working to fix it, he's doing a stupid terrible job.

It's quite simple to fix: No more preferential treatment of ANYONE based on anything other than merit. Full Stop.

You'd have to fire most of HR, but I suspect that would improve our bottom line substantially in and of itself.
