Try to have a "moral" for the little people. Something that you "learned."

WOW! Thank you so much for sharing! Reading this was a great way to start my day. It made me realize that I should work more hours, especially on the weekends in hopes of getting recognized as a “rock star” . My ultimate goal is to have a taco bar or pizza party for the team!
The vacation story had it's 15 minutes of fame and is now in the news archive.
Wouldn't be surprised if TPTB read this board and realized how irritating that article was.
No worries - Pappy is collecting another award. Is he vying for CEO?
Congratulations @e4+1jq4r5erh on your vacation and write-up! Beautiful.
You are a straight sho-ter with upper management written all over you!
@e4+1jq4r5erh LOVE THIS!
@e4+1jq4r5erh 😂 brilliant
Rising with the Tides: A Day at the Seaside
Sometimes, the most unexpected life lessons come not from boardrooms or bold adventures, but from the hum of a boardwalk carousel and the squawk of a determined seagull. I experienced one of those moments last weekend on a humble day trip to the Jersey Shore with my family.
For days, I prepped for this getaway—Google Maps, snack strategy, optimal beach umbrella placement. I arrived in Ocean City ready to lead, advise, and most importantly, protect my crew from sunburn, overpriced lemonade, and rogue frisbees. But as it turns out, no amount of sunscreen layering or crowd navigation could have prepared me for the revelations that followed.
As we made our way across the hot wooden planks and onto the sand, I witnessed the raw strength of the next generation. My daughter’s grit in hunting down the perfect seashell. My nephew’s bravery in battling a wave two sizes too big. The sheer resolve it took to wait in line for funnel cake when the line felt like it reached Pennsylvania.
What struck me most wasn’t the chaos, but the calm. These kids led with instinct. They questioned everything (“Why is there sand in my sandwich?”) and reframed reality (“It’s not ruined—it’s extra crunchy.”). They saw everyone as equals—whether it was the lifeguard or the kid selling Italian ice—and stayed focused on the goal: maximum joy, minimal sand in shoes.
This wasn’t just a beach day. It was a reminder that leadership doesn’t always wear a suit or summit a peak. Sometimes, it wears sunglasses too big for its face and leads a charge toward the arcade with a pocket full of quarters and purpose in its heart.
Let’s not overlook the everyday moments. The small wins. The simple joys. Because sometimes, the greatest leadership lessons are found not at 19,000 feet, but at sea level—sticky with sunscreen and smiling through the chaos of this new frontier......
Take note, Pappy's swinging the axe. In the past 9 month's he's cut several of his directs and he's not done yet. If you are a direct report, he's going to get rid of you.
I don’t agree with much of what I read on this site. But THIS…this is spot on. Right up there with black jacket getting a $10K painting at her going away townhall and instead of being wowed and grateful, she talked about how many she owns. Tacky and gross.
