Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Man up and moving to hub

I am unable move outside T due to my reluctance and being afraid of the job market. All jobs pretty much require 3 day office presence an hour of commute and there are no guarantees anywhere.
T was kind enough to accommodate and adjust my schedule accordingly but a decision to move to hub is evident soon. For those who relocated, how did you man up and bite the bullet to move and was it worth it?

The fact that you’re asking someone else to “man up” to upend their lives for a job that could easily layoff them as soon as they move to another hub/state just shows that you either lack sympathy for others or are another mo--nic id--t.

You didn't read anything but the headline, did you?

It depends on your situation. If you have kids and they have a life where you live, DON’T MOVE! it’s not worth it. I did when they were in school and really regret it.

I'd be more scared of packing up and moving to a hub. What makes you think you'll in any way be better off there? Just as likely to let go and now you'll be in a place with zero real contacts that you probably don't even want to be in given your reluctance to move.

Let me clarify when I say 2 years: two of them got laid off in 2025.

You're scared of change and the interview process, not the job market.

Let me paint it this way. I've had 4 coworkers get laid off in the last two years. They were all 50+ years old. Every single one of them found equivalent jobs within 2 weeks.

If they can do it, so can you.

If you decide to move, rent, don't buy. Just because you move does not guarantee you a job. There are no safety haven clauses in the move agreement.

Fake post, or you’re one big fkn loser. Nothing you said is based on reality.

You’re not unable to move outside T.
All jobs to not require 3 days in office.
No guarantees anywhere? There’s less of a guarantee here you dummy. You’re a goner, guaranteed. I can tell by your attitude.
T wasn’t kind and adjusted your schedule, your manager did.
You’re not going to even get a choice to move. I can tell, no one would want to employ a loser who lacks confidence like you.
