Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Nonstop layoffs

Unfortunately we can expect more each month…and possibly every two weeks from what I’m hearing.

What are the chances this is true? I need to start looking for a way out right away if it is.

People need to plan on their jobs not existing in the next 1-2 years, even less for a lot of positions. We recently lost a LOT of experienced people on my team, people I thought would be safe and not replaceable by any means. They are now gone and we can’t replace their workload. It’s caused chaos and there is no fixing it. Your job can be eliminated no matter how important you think you are to your boss or to the company.

They are going to keep slashing and offshoring until they can get back in the black now that the under-table federal deals have evaporated. Gravy train is over and it's looking like a financial bloodbath for Elevance now.

I spent 12 months looking for a new job before getting my layoff notice in January. I feel like I got a great head start on interviewing, resume-writing, and identifying potential employers of interest. My advice is to start looking ASAP so that if your number is called, you will not be taken by surprise.

It’s mostly true. Some months will be bigger than others, but this company will look very different by the end of 2025. I can’t decide if they are gearing up to sell or they are just that incompetent thinking AI and offshoring will somehow improve the company’s value.
