Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

GAIL’S GOTTA GO

Do we even have a board? Who does she answer to? I’m ready for her to leave so we can hopefully get a leader who actually understands what we do for a living and will quit pushing d-mb United agendas and bringing in poor leadership.

So the company’s official stance is to show up on a layoff site just to argue with employees who have been or are afraid of being laid off? That's certainly "a" way to address low morale i guess....

The fact that you’re putting this much effort into dismissing concerns—while conveniently racking up an unusual number of likes- tells me that someone finally knows how to change an ip. This suggests this is more of a damage control tactic than a genuine response. Oh, the ELVen ways are strong with you.

If leadership focused on transparency and accountability instead of smoke and mirrors, you wouldn’t have this many people venting in the first place. People aren’t posting frustrations because they want to be; they’re posting because they don’t want to feel like their job could disappear at any moment.

If you have to actively fight back against your own employees, maybe—just maybe—you should ask why they’re upset in ways that don't encourage confirmation bias, then address root cause instead of just telling them the grass isn’t greener. Because from where they’re standing, it’s looking pretty scorched.

Sincerely, someone who wanted to be there

Seems like this has been a theme of yours to post CEO has to go over the past year or so. Sounds personal. Op were you fired due to incompetence or are you one of the quiet quitters that has been at the company forever and never accomplished anything? Can't get promoted and can't leave because no one else will hire you? You reference d-umb united agenda. What is that specifically? Diversify the company and grow businesses so that there is a future for everyone? Maybe you want to remember the failed Cigna merger under past leader? Hmm that was a lot of fun. I know layoffs su-k and I am concerned if we don't improve there will be more because I see too many people like you who want to b-tch but not contribute but hey you were probably already fired and just come on here to complain. For the rest, there are lots of opportunities to improve your skills and contribute. If you can't then find another company because those of us who want to be here are sick of all of you who don't want to be at the company. You aren't held captive, if you are so unhappy find another job and move on... but hey you probably can't and that's why you just b-itch here.

Interesting take. Company needs to perform and deliver results. A different CEO won’t matter or protect you from the changes coming to your business and industry and I might suggest would even take out more of the non performers faster and cut deeper to get the company positioned. Have you paid attention to what is going on with your competitors and across all companies. Change is coming to all companies. Get on board or find another job. Or Maybe go work for the Federal Government and see how that works for you? Go work for a competitor who also are all laying off if you are so good and sure of yourself. Not sure OP if you are still an employee but you sound like a bitter ex employee who got fired for being bad at your job. If you still work at the company then it’s not a surprise why they have layoffs with your attitude as you are too incompetent to find another job and just want to complain and bring everyone down. You are probably one of the people leaders who sit around and do nothing and blame everyone for your lack of success Find someplace you can be happy.

Cuts are needed at the top, not in operational areas servicing our customers and providers but the upper echelon do not have a clue.

They've benefited from unending and out-of-control federal spend and they are probably realizing that the gravy train is stopping with the new administration. The cuts are probably necessary to avoid deep losses over the next several years.
