Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

March layoff thread Cigna/Evernorth

Hearing reports from colleagues that small scale, strategic layoffs are starting this week for CIGNA/evernorth with the finalization of medicare advantage lines of business transitioning to HCSC . Rumors of more layoffs in April.
Anyone know what departments / lines of business are being affected by this?

With the announcement of Palmer unexpectedly departing the company - are any of the jobs with evernorth really secure?

I just got my layoff notice today. I didn't see it coming, although I have planned to retire in December. It's interesting the way they are going about it.

All of Evernorth Home Based Care as they are axing it. Some staff will remain for winding down but no time frame specifics were given. Business/vendors aren't even being told until Thursday. WTF is that?!?

IT beginning of April is the rumor. You know they'll change it up if the rumor gets bigger

Yes. For your first question - small scale layoffs have been happening at Cigna and Evernorth for over a year now. For your second - no job anywhere is secure unless you have an employment contract to the contrary, the US default is at-will employment.
