Especially if you're young. Crown will do nothing for your career except hold you back. If I weren’t close to retirement, I’d be long gone.

Why am I picturing the end of an epic movie where the older, wiser master tells the young protege to go on without you.
As someone who hung in just to get the severance package, I agree with the OP.
Not saying the OP is doing this but be careful of the snakes who keep pushing people to leave so they can keep their job…
