This sounds like exxon. I guess exxon will soon follow chevron. We at exxon are going through the same indian outsourcing. We get piped every year and this is our layoff.

30% do actual work, 40% do nothing, 30% drag to the opposite direction. I prefer to work with the first group, ok working with the second group, I do my best to avoid the third group.

Case in point. I've got a dev who got yelled at for emailing a support group associated with an API. She was told that she wasn't following the process and should read the API document. Drum roll... doc link broken. They spent an hour trying to find and validate the most up to date version. My dev already knew this and was reaching out because of it, but people would rather yell about not following the process than spend 30 seconds reading the actual email.
Will this change in a meaningful way in the reorg?

Well they want to cut out actual necessary work because they have to stay in Kom-pliance. They found out the don’t have enough people to do it, therefore instead of “fixing” it, they just say get rid of it…bad idea,
