How petty everyone here is.
Nobody is saying don’t decorate your home for Christmas. Office is not the place atleast for now during this time.
For those intelligent folks who don’t seem to get it..only time will tell
The timing is when the Timing is….how many of you are going to skip Christmas decorations this year ? Prejudice runs deep and I have experienced it first hand in Seagate at LCO
Don’t throw unnecessary conspiracies of racism etc. No body is questioning about celebration but the timing of it.
Can’t there be some solidarity for the 3k plus employees who will be feeling bad in coming weeks.
If you all is free food..God save you
A bunch of employees got together, brought their own food and shared it with each other. Had a little cultural immersion. Targeting this not only sounds petty, but smacks of cultural insensitivity and racism.
I'd prefer BBQ and beer.
The party cost virtually nothing and was a bright spot in an otherwise depressing month. I'm grateful to the volunteers who made it happen
I'm ok with free food and snacks any day of the week. I do not celebrate the holiday but will not turn down a delicious afternoon snack and converse with those that do celebrate it. I get it, there is a layoff coming up. Some are anxious. Some are like whatever. I'm a realist and if laid off will look for another job. It's not personal, it's business. Honest days work for an honest days pay. I enjoy what I do but I am certain I can also find job fulfilment elsewhere. Hopefully, they will also have free food and snacks on some occasions.

This company is bloated with non-value added activity. My inbox is filled up every day with events, concerns, and recognitions of every possible identity and types that has nothing to do with business. All that stuff costs money. I don’t care about getting a free pie or watching nobody enjoy a 10k new basketball court. There is waste everywhere.

Seagate senior leadership has also put a pause on celebrating all birthdays or service anniversaries until financial position gets better.

Why should one have anything to do with the other? I can't take one moment out of this dark period to complement the cafeteria staff?! You need help if you're that consumed by the company situation every waking minute.
