Houston management can’t say enough about BTC

I attended an all hands meeting recently for my group in Houston and nearly every presenter was tripping over themselves to see who could praise the two centers one hub BTC way of working. It was like attending a cult meeting. What is going on? Do people think their job will be safe if they worship the god of offshoring jobs to India enough? It was the strangest thing I have seen and I have seen some strange things.

1/8 the cost is being tracked and reported repeatedly to the highest levels.

1/8 the productivity and requiring an HC10 redo the incorrect work is forbidden to be tracked.

It is a lot like first class passengers on the Titanic high and dry not worrying when the 3rd Class levels were going under water.

The whole ship is going down and EM Executives just rearranging the hot desks.

it might if you’re too stupid to understand that salary is the not the same as market value

a salary is just a number picked to meet a certain standard for living in an area. and so, you get what you need to live as comfortably as americans doing the same job. salary actually varies in-between cities in the same country. nationality has nothing to do with it.

also if you were paid what americans were but worked 7 hours off american times then why would you ever be hired over an american?

if you made one million dollars while an american made only 200k you would not be singing the same tune.

anyway you’re full of sh-t 10 ways to sunday.

@g9+1jpkpgp2j Did they not teach you English in India? Probably, to keep you d-mber in India.

Your more intelligent counterparts have already moved to America. Currently, they are very busy su-king/blowing our leadership, for a lot more than you and your ilk are making in India.

It seems unethical to pay one guy $200,000 a year and another guy $25,000 a year for same job, based on the Nationality of the persons.

Statement - Houston management can’t say enough about BTC

Translation - This is a public relations statement since we want to grow our LNG business in India and we need Prime Minister Modi's support.

Recent LinkedIn Post - Thrilled to host our CEO Darren Woods at ExxonMobil’s Bengaluru Campus recently!

Our GCC provides critical support to our businesses and sites around the world. We discussed with Darren the various ways our teams in Bengaluru add value to the Corporation.

Darren also met with bright young students from Shanti Bhavan (SB) and two of our colleagues who are SB alumni. We’re inspired by their resilience and gratified that our long-term support to Shanti Bhavan Children's Project is creating such a transformative impact.

Darren’s broad perspective, refreshing candor and confidence in our abilities will keep us energized for a long time. We look forward to welcoming him back and sharing our progress.

The wages are low for you, but they allow for a decent lifestyle with cooks and househelp in India. Otherwise Exxon will need to pay higher.

Do they not teach econmics in American schools? Probably to keep you d-mb. So go home and do your dishes with your racist attitude. You are no better, you love on a stolen piece of land after getting rid of several natove culutres and people.

In case anyone is still pondering the eternal question: why are we outsourcing the jobs from America to India:

.......Yes, yes (shaking my head sideways) I will work for very low wages, if you just give me a bowl of rice and Stanky curry.

Management is overjoyed that they have found an entire country full of English speaking people willing to work for 12% of typical salary of HC10 countries.

Even if 100% rework required, still getting work done for 25% of normal industry cost.

You can have 2 centres, or even more. But you can't apply centres in a hub. Centres are distributed around hub(s) that are larger or more critical.

Exxon's terminology is the usual meaningless BS.

Monthly meeting for my group is now a constant welcome of new hires at BTC and expats from India joining us in Houston. Sigh.

ExxonMobil has been outsourcing jobs to lower cost countries since the 1990's. Just ask the Houston based SAP Accountants whose jobs were moved to Argentina in the 1990's.

Are the BTC perfect? No! Were things perfect before we opened the BTC? No! Are the BTCs helping to significantly reduce cost and standardize processes? He-l yes! You can whine as much as you want, every person with half a brain knows that establishing the BTCs was a sound business decision.

Don’t worry, if you’re EMTEC or GP, all of your team will soon be in India. HR has been told to help assess out the rest of the non-NRE stragglers.
