Did anyone confirm whether or not there would be layoffs next week? If so what areas?

There were layoffs last week in Bank
Y'all shouldn't be spreading rumors. If you know details, then share; otherwise, it's just speculation that's creating more chaos and anxiety for others.
Mortgage closing and processing were impacted, as well as Mortgage quality.
Can confirm layoffs happened in mortgage compliance. Really su-ks. Not sure if other areas of the bank were effected. But 4pm meeting made it seem like not all were told 03/18. And future layoffs to happen as well. No one is safe.
“No one in ECIO/CTXO is impacted”, I’m trying to recall, but I believe last round of layoffs was over two consecutive Tuesdays?
I guess we will know in a week.
I know of at least 25+ in bank data alone. They did a lot of hiring in the last five years and created too many duplicative positions. The org chart announced in Jan/Feb was writing on the wall.
No one in ECIO/CTXO is impacted.. you should ask your EMGs to shut up.
I doubt all remote work is targeted. If that were true then why hire for remote only opportunities.
I’m convinced there will be a second round next Tuesday, 3/24.
Curious if management is trying to squeeze out remote workers?
@ex+1jpjmx1aa Honestly, there's no telling anymore. As far as I know, most layoffs in the past have targeted non-member contact roles and management. I know there have been some in mortgage member contact, but I would think (or at least hope) that member contact would be pretty safe generally. The company will always need member contact employees. Normally layoffs are directed at teams/areas who "no longer align with USAA's strategic vision," aka teams that have become obsolete or redundant, or overstaffed. But I don't think anyone really knows for sure. And those who do know are likely not posting here.
Should bank member contact be concerned?
BRCAs impacted in the Bank as well
Sincerely sorry to all those impacted. Amala has repeatedly stated that her plan was for "head count to remain flat" over the next few years, basically hinting that no more layoffs were planned for her org. Of course, that could also mean laying off 50 people in Org A and hiring 50 people in Org B based on strategic goals, but to say "head count is remaining flat" is misleading at best, dishonest/flat out lying at worst.
Yet another example of, "HILS for thee, not for me."
Also, friendly request to explain what acronyms stand for when applicable. It's hard enough to keep track of the ones within one's org, let alone when dealing with areas in a different area (e.g., what is BDMT?).
It looks like there’s some sort of all hands on deck meeting at 4 PM central for the bank. That sounds suspiciously like an announcement to me
BDMT
Was Bank data and analytics impacted again?
Confirmed layoffs in mortgage compliance. Seniors and a manager. Unclear how much rest of bank is affected. This is from manager, nothing from senior leadership yet.
Bank Data
Hearing Bank PMO/Transformation Office was impacted. Not sure of numbers.
The Real Estate side has been impacted today.
@dm+1jpjmx1aa I'm a remote employee on the east coast so it was 8am for me and no commute to the office. I received a meeting invite from my manager shortly before it was communicated to me.
@dc+1jpjmx1aa
An hour ago? How early was that, 7am?
Please tell us they at least called you before you were leaving for office.
Back in October, my peer got her notice at 4:45pm, couldn’t even wait until the next morning to give her the notice.
Former bank product management employee here, I can confirm that I was let go a few minutes ago.
Hang tight everyone! I know this will be heart wrenching for those impacted but you will make it through this chaos. It is so easy for people to dismiss layoffs until it happens to them. Whether it is 1 or 1000, this is going to su-k big time!
They start tomorrow morning 3/18/2025
Yes confirmed in ERC
Anything in the Mortgage department?
Everyone part of “claims modernization” will be gone soon. You pretty much deplatformed your job to Guidewire. Dont worry EMG will be gracious with a new job and higher pay in another company thanks to your sacrifice.
heard rumors around 5% in the first round
Yea, its confirmed. Major impact to ECIO/CTXO based on the EMGs I know
Where?
Heard it may be sooner in some areas
