Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Quiet Quitting

So, is 'doing the bare minimum' the play now? Because I'm done with my team lead's screaming fits over things that are totally out of my hands. I'm past caring. Honestly, I'm done putting in the effort, especially for someone who was already awful and incompetent before all this.

The poor bonuses this year were a blow. What's the motivation to do anything above the minimum? The company's poor performance is due to decisions at the senior level, everyone else is just pawns doing what's they're told. Your team lead may be bad, but know that they're likely dealing with the same garbage you are.

Maybe you're just slow for thinking your team lead is lazy when they saw the writing on the wall long before you. Commands come down a long chain before they make it to your team lead, they're barely above you on the totem pole. If you're getting a review that's weaker than previous years it's no surprise everyone is switching gears to low effort mode. Just do the job and go home. It's hard enough out there in the job market but that's enough motivation to make you do so much at work.

What is the point in working 24/7 "salary". Others take credit for your work and no life.

@ef+ I think this post is meant as a hint to the Executives at this company that they are riffing some people that should still be here and not riffing some people that should be gone.

I dislike Anthem. But since its my insurance company, what choice do I have? I am sending in an appeal for them paying me pennies on a dollar for a life saving surgery that was out of network. Or should I just sue them?

I have been doing the bare minimum since last year. Why do anything else? Regardless of what I do as I have busted my a__ working long hours in past years doing my job and the work of two others only to still get a Meets ranking and merits below 3 percent. I am over 55 now so a rif will eventually get me so who cares!

i worked here for 28 years with all exceeds on my performance reviews. one manager who i went to hr on decided to put me on the rif list to get me out of his hair. he worked for 3 months from oct to dec to take away projects to validate my job was not needed. i went to assoc relations , business partner hr, vice president and not one person helped me. say something, report retaliation, i finally did and it found me without a job at 58 three years until retirement after 60 hours a week of working on vacations and missing my life! all to sign a release that doesn’t let me fight for my rights!!!!!!!! if i want to keep my home!!!!!!!!!!

Sue for a hostile work environment.
If you need the paycheck enough to stick around in an environment where its toxicity is literally illegal, then grab that bag along the way.
Quietly and methodically collect evidence, build a case.
Fu*k'em where it hurt$.

Bad managers are becoming the norm at this company. I have one that throws fits at least twice a week and it makes us all really not care about work.
