Sam’s has totally changed over the last several years. I have seen this as a former Employee of 29 years, 12 of those as a CM. They pretend to be fair and consistent, but are definitely not. I have seen so many inconsistencies and favoritism over the years. These consist of club tours, promotions, and coachings. I have seen associates get in trouble, leave the company only to come back and get promoted. They ask the CM to run their clubs as CEO’s but that is a lie. You are to follow what H.O. says to the letter regardless what you think. You basically work 24/7 with you MM always asking for pictures at the last minute at all times of the day and stupid changes to one up another club. Even vacations are constantly interrupted and you live in fear of the pop in visit. Sam’s use to be a fun place to work. Not so much anymore.

Agreed. We just had a charter associate leave. Not one manager said anything, they did NOTHING for him. WORST COMPANY EVERY! I agree about the union, never thought I would say that.
Certainly would not let certain GM step down and work In another club. Only see this allowed for female and minorities while I worked there.
Wow! In essence you all are saying in twenty plus years a business has changed. That is surprising to say the least. I thought for sure all organizations would operate the same way forever. I've learned so much from this thread. No wonder the cost of membership has gone up!
12 years as a CM? Did they let you step down and stay in your club? Highly unlikely. I call bullsh-t.
Associates vacaciones are interrupted, Days requested off are declined with no coverage. When it comes to the favorite ones always get where ever Day one even if the call in. They will take their points away and let them work another day… GMs are never on the club on vacaciones all the time letting the poor managers take care of their job. I mean Is a total mess!
I feel ya on this. I was with the company 20 years and half of them I was a manager. This company is ran like a dictatorship. They bully their managers and associates. I just wish a union would get into these clubs soon.
I would love to commiserate with you... but... you were a GM... If you were so for 12 years there is no doubt in my mind that you treated ( at least some of the time) you associates as badly as HO treated you. No need to deny it . we all know it is true. I only hope that you in the future will not p-o on those beneath you while weeping about the potty habits of those above you.
