When do you think the next round of layoffs will happen now that their cushy trip is over with.

Uniti will be letting all FOps go before the end of 3rd Quarter replacing them with Fidelity contractor resources. They're also in conversation with One Support to take on NOC related support.
Union techs across the company were given the option for voluntary separation today. If they don't receive enough volunteers they will lay people off. No mention of how many positions they need to "downsize", just the normal if you don't leave yourself, you might be laid off.
The Unity merger will not result in job loss. It’s very obvious what the plan is. Join the two companies together again which then makes them more appealing to then put the for sale sign in the yard. So people , clean up the resume because it will eventually happen but you do have some time.
While Uniti is smaller than Windstream, they are not 200. And thinking Uniti is just Windstream network is not correct.
Uniti has about 10% the employees that Windstream does. Like 800 at Uniti to 8,000 at Windstream.
Uniti does operate a network. There is Uniti Leasing and Uniti Fiber. Uniti Fiber is the companies they purchased which includes Tower Cloud, Southern Light, PEG Bandwidth, and Hunt Telecom.
go to uniti.com and look at the network map. Turn off all Layers EXCEPT Network Services. That is the Uniti owned and operated network.
If you think Uniti is going to leak who they end up keeping, even in management positions, you’ve never been through a merger before.
If you've been through a telco merger before and think this one is going to be anything like those before you're not paying attention.
Uniti has a couple hundred people. Let me repeat that for the people in the back. UNITI ONLY HAS A COUPLE HUNDRED EMPLOYEES
Statistically you're not getting replaced by them. They mostly are a leasing company and do not operate a network.
They're going to keep cutting people - don't get it twisted. But it's not because there's some guy at Uniti that does what you do and now they have two of them, unless you work in corporate real estate and finance type of cr-p.
There will be more before the merge. No one is safe no matter where you’re at on the totem pole. Even the normal “know it all ‘s” do not really know. If you think Uniti is going to leak who they end up keeping, even in management positions, you’ve never been through a merger before. That is all kept top secret so the status quo does not collapse before the new leaders are ready to roll, which can only be done once the merge is 100% complete and approved. They are probably meeting with folks now and deciding who to keep, disguising the real reason they are meeting. Merger related layoffs used to be a tax expense that could be wrote off related to a merger or acquisition….Last I heard the merge was on track for May or June…so it won’t be long.
Considering it's the end of the first quarter, if numbers aren't in line then I'd say the traditional 3rd Thursday we'll be trimming some more.
Heard a guy on the trip stood up, gave the finger to jeff and then said f off. Lmao if its really true. Good for him
Pick me pick me
Could be! They have to meet and plan on how they are going to reverse course and implement the new executive orders, since that has been the excuse the last four years.
Sounds like we’re expecting it to be soon! Like it’s right around the corner! Could this be the end? I agree that catering and bar tab could employ one for a year but the trip that all the elites r on their way back from could sustain multiple! It must be nice to cross items off ur bucket list while working!
Bar tab and catering from the meeting could keep an employee for a year.
Leaders are travelling to a meeting on the 17th; just in time for third thursday on the 20th.
Next week, next month, Once the merger happens June 1, then the real RIFs begin.
