Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Latest WFR Programme

I dont understand this company they will do a wfr programme and pay technical people off then go and recruit people to replace them. The idea should be to reduce numbers not increase when your not winning business. There should be a recruitment freeze which would lose 15% of staff naturally.

They seriously need to shrink the internal mid manager layers who are non customer facing overheads.

Well…. You have to WFR people who are making money for DXC so that the CEO can bring in people who know nothing about services. And bring them in at the VP or SVP level. We may have the most incompetent CEO in any IT services company… sorry we definitely have the most incompetent.

Don’t be too surprised if you see these WFR’s every quarter on quarter.

@dg+1jp72n72r People do this because they fear for their roles, and know it makes no odds to their salary if they do it properly or not. Good company's reward behaviours they want. And punish those they don't. The latter mostly by not giving those people a pay rise. Maybe DXC is saying we're all cr-p. But I can't figure out what they want. I don't think they know. Basically join the I've given up club for your own sanity.

We have one useless guy in the internal IT who has finished 40 years and supports some archaic systems and ensures no upgrades or documentation happens to keep his job. These are the type of people we have.

Given that most of the staff are out to undermine DXC effective working and see it coming crashing down so that we can all leave and say I told you so.... I can imagine there's a set of managers equally determined to do the same. So they'll pick people out of spite. Either for that individual or the company. It really makes no odds who stays or goes now. We all stopped adding value when the long promised pay awards turned out to be under 2%. Meanwhile I imagine most people's utility bills are going up by more than they got awarded from 1st April. I know mine are.

Do you mean "why are the job grades setup so badly after seven years of hr working on them?"

It's a good question.

Why would you let skilled people wrongly graded on a management grade go, when you have non customers facing managers who are supposed to be targeted to go.

Think this is another hole in the DXC WFR someone has overlooked. They need to double check they arent getting rid of technical folks accidently.

DXC is quite happy for skilled staff to walk out the door, and will then employ people who's CV says they have the skillsets required and pay market rate - they think they get someone who has no baggage and wants to contribute. After 2 months of someone trying to get them a login, and endless pointless online courses to fill their time - these people have pretty much had enough before they even get a chance to start. Within 12 months they are grumbling like the rest of us, and know for sure they won't get a rise for 10 years, and are already applying elsewhere.

There is no old expensive guard

I was on 40k after 20 years, the new grad was on 32k after his probation which was 2 years.

When they’re done you with they’re done - in this sh--e company one has no alternative but to accept this fact. Just hope they are issuing decent packages, and leave as soon as offered…

Not sure about that, the young ones have more baggage, they aren't that cheap anymore, they have no clue what they are doing, leave after 18 months after producing nothing, use pool tables at Erskine for extra curricular activities, and on and on....

DXC just wasting good money for nothing instead of using it to give people proper rises.

Could it be, god forbid, that they want to get rid of the old, expensive guard and replace them with relatively cheap “kids” who don’t have any baggage, having not (yet) been poisoned with the toxic atmosphere and ring a fresh, keen, outlook, or am I just being cynical?
