Most people are claiming that layoffs will happen on March 24th. Is this confirmed? I really need this job right now, as I imagine many of you do as well. If anyone has any information, please share.

If you think being a smug je-k makes you look cool or clever, you are wrong!
Why is everyone upset about the way the message was communicated? What did you want? A hug? A pat on the back? Do you think they enjoyed having to own the message that we work for a company that can’t get its sh*t together?
Those days of being a happy family are gone. Everyone working at USAA is a $alary entry that goes on a spreadsheet on how much you cost the company in overhead costs.
Welcome to the big bank circus. It’s not personal and if you take it that way, choose another line of work. Don’t live above your means, do your job or at least fake it, and keep a up to date resume handy.
That’s wisdom from your Uncle Baby Billy.
@18g+1jp3zrjvb So sorry to hear that. What area are you in?
Also, if it helps, the fact that it was "cold" was almost certainly nothing personal. The company (HR) has to be very precise in what they say and how they say it avoid potential legal issues. Saying "you were a great employee," or "so sorry we have to do this," or basically anything that deviates from their legal-approved script could open them up to litigation etc.
Sorry again. Hope you land on your feet.
Layoffs all over Bank today. I was impacted. The meeting with my SVP was cold, no emotion, no thank you for anything…..nothing. Just that “my position is eliminated for financial reasons.”
Some Layoffs going down today in Tampa.
It makes sense. We had to send in lists of our responsibilities and time studies. Chaotic director keeps having last minute fire drills/setting unrealistic deadlines - says it’s EMG expectations. Hope both my director/EMG get cut since they are useless and waste company resources (plus remote).
I have heard this March rumor from a few people. One is internal upper leadership, and one an ex employee (also upper leadership). I am unsure how legit or where these individuals are getting their information. It is my understanding that directors and below are typically not aware until right before, like maybe a day or two. These sources seem to believe there will be cuts to ancillary roles in bank (BA’s etc) as well as leadership.
Sources (names no given of course)? Areas?
ERC will have some more RIF, not sure how much
This site has been pretty accurate. I’m sure the leaks have to be a little vague to avoid exposing the person posting.
Funny how people get so angry here for not say who they or stating which locations getting laid off, yet there's been like a 90% accuracy on this site when it comes to the layoffs.
Here we go again with the vague bullsh-t. Grow some ba--s and say exactly what teams/areas will be impacted. Otherwise, sit down and let the adults finish talking.
I’m not too sure on March layoffs, if so it’ll be another small amount like the P&C layoffs back in early February, just to keep the total under Texas law for Q1.
I fully expect Bank to have a massive hit sometime this year, they just have way too many directors and leads. This one girl on my team (who drank the kool-aid), the uncertainty of job security took a huge toll on her and she just said F it, and started looking externally back in September and left for Capital One in November, a bit lesser pay but she’s remote.
Ohhh. I like Phil, but I get it.
Did the “someone who knows” specify what departments?
It’ll be the worker bees who make between $60-$80k that will be given their notice. There’s a reason the bank changed severance from 52 weeks to 26 weeks, they plan to make the bank a skeleton crew by mid 2026.
Like a comment on here stated, if you’re in the bank, BUCKLE UP!
I heard layoffs that week too from someone who knows. Buckle up
