Very little chatter on layoffs, which makes me nervous.

Heard PMO got hit today. Good luck to those reapplying and hopefully the package good for all.
'Throw in a few old ones to avoid lawsuits' isn't how it works. If they can justify getting rid of all they will. If an older person is ki-ling it in their role and good performance reviews behind them they should be OK.
Not sure how safe ANI is in general but hopefully some saved. Look for jobs in FOC
Whole department just got laid off this morning. Have to reapply for "new" roles of which how many those are who knows. This way they cut bonus people, older high paying people etc. in one swoop. Probably will only hire mostly India & ANI back with some younger ANA ones. Of course they'll throw in a couple older ones to avoid lawsuits.
It's seasonal for the most part. Long about 3Q, when it becomes obvious even to senior management, that whatever 'transformation' they've been told for however long is going gangbusters really isn't; there'll be a 'leadership meeting' in Chicago. The various SVPs will scramble for turf and there will likely be another 'reorganization' or 'reimagining' of the delivery model as whatever clown grabs the enter ring feeds Tommy and the crew the latest snake oil. All the middle management a-s kissers will then stake out their political turf and figure how they're going to relabel the same cr-p they've done for years if not decades so they can yes man the big boys for another year and cover their own arses.
The upshod of all this is usually the Allstate Fall Hunger Games, where they 'reimagine' certain roles and people right out of the company so they can write off the cost by EOY. Wrong place or role on the HR chart? Bye. Wrong place in your salary band? See ya. Company needs to get down to a certain number for whatever reason? (See also October, 2023) Adios, amigo. Because their bonus checks are at the center of everything they do. But hey, Big Blue cares!
Lather, rinse repeat. Next year, the cycle starts again.
The company rule since 2020 plague fiasco / awfully handled RIF has been “quiet cutting” and selective targeting for “performance Improve” /termination which seems to target higher income and non DEI employees. What’s left to cut at ALL but more labor to cook the books.
Layoffs go on 24/7/365 but very quietly and always to circumvent the WARN Act or pay any severance.
There aren't many left onshore to layoff anymore lol
Like @a7+1jp363de6 said - could be next month, could be 10 years. It’s been feeling like that for the last 8-10 years.
Constant & ongoing. Not saying that to scare you. Maybe you'll still be in company in 10 years; maybe you get laid off next month. That's the general feeling I'm hearing. Do what's right by you and it'll make whatever the future holds a bit easier.
