I learned during the last 14 months to not strive for trying to do great cross-functional things that move the needle. Cross-functional things intersect way too many insecure, territorial people who will try to sabotage your efforts. Tomorrow I awake a different person and will put up silos for protection. I’ve had it.
What leadership? We can't do anything on our own. That is why we can't find oil and have to slink around looking for small fry to buy to replace our dwindling reserves. Hint: It isn't working. Wait until the North American unconventional bo-m begins to flounder in a few years. We might become the small fry for some other hungry fish. Venezuela heavy might be our only identified salvation after our government concedes Drill Baby Drill USA is not working.
If we want to be the leader why are we following? If you’re not first you’re last.
Just wait a few years after all this restructuring and our competitors are still ahead of us. Our leadership still will be blind to their own problems.
That is a clear admission of leadership failure and still no accountability!
