Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Salary appeal process?

Is there any way we can go over our manager’s heads and straight to HR to negotiate a new salary? Many people I know that do not work at Cigna have that luxury. Been here for only 2 years so wasn’t sure if that exists.. Seems like HR is hidden behind a giant wall.

I did it successfully when a manager and their boss never met with me for performance reviews and then tried to withhold my raise and bonus. They were required by HR to provide me with both seeing that there was nothing at all in my file.

That seems like a you problem. Every team has an HR business partner. Just aSk your manager or skip level who yours is if you don’t know

In over 11 years, I have never even known where an HR office or person is. It’s sad.

Good luck with that in this environment. Everyone seems to be on the chopping block so asking for a raise probably isn’t the best idea.

i've never heard of this but you can consider A having an honest and open discussion with your manager about your performance and contributions. Facts such as "we meet weekly and you've never provided any feedback for things i can work on/improve despite my asking so the lack of raise these past two years has been shocking and disheartening." if your manager IS the issue, consider requesting a skip level with their manager and present the same data. if your leadership team is the issue, i would look elsewhere. i hate to say that but i had to do that to escape a toxic and biased leadership team.

I legitimately doubt it and I really doubt this is common at any large company, because I've never heard of anyone doing this unless it was a smaller (<1000) person company.

Never heard of it. If you are not satisfied with your salary, just try to find a better one, then leave.
