Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Why would the vendors keep any of us if they can pay people in their countries a fraction of the cost

  1. There have been licensed service and licensed adjusters in India for a few years now. Offshore can certainly be licensed if their departments are considered an extension of onshore. If your department is considered based in the U.S. you can live and work on the moon and be licensed.
  1. Those not licensed that are rebadged to the vendor from most areas will be cut by the vendor within 6 months. Book it.
  1. Only a small portion of employees being rebadged to the vendor from all impacted departments are licensed.

I'm the op and work in ASIC. Not every area is licensed such as RMBC also. So your post really isn't applicable

You all are id--ts! Maybe Allstate should have just laid you off due to your incompetence. Problem with a lot of people here is you have no business knowledge. Think logically…Licensed Insurance work can only be done onshore. How can a vendor compete in the market with other insurance companies needing licensed service reps if they pay minimum wage? They can’t! Unless every single large insurance company vendors their licensed work…hmm…sounds like the future for customer service jobs.
Allstate won’t just let their licensed service jobs be fired from a vendor because you need the staff to support ACS as it grows. The vendor will hire extra licensed services reps…check to see what they’re being paid if your curious, just will prove my point.
Maybe spend your time bettering yourself instead of complaining about a company that has always said they are about being profitable at any cost, including you.

I think the only reason saving us from this is our producers license, you can't obtain them from another country

The real question is why would they keep any whining babies that do nothing but complain on this site? If it is as bad as you say, just leave. There are plenty of opportunities out there if you look. Life is way too short to be as miserable as many of you have become.

they will offer you min wage and no benefits. you will refuse. your hand will then be forced to look for a job. Start looking now. Before the recession. There are breadcrumbs to what the intention is without coming out an stating it. Take control of your destiny. there is no white knight coming to help, and there ain't enough life boats on the ship.

It's just a dog and pony show. Allstate gives the business to the vendors. Pay them some money but far less than what they would pay out in severance. The vendor smiles and nods for a while and then the vast majority get cut in relatively short order. This is just a salary dump to keep up appearances and avoid severance payouts as much as possible. This is the new layoff in corporate America.

The point is long term they are not. 6-12 months to get their $5 an hour employees up to full speed and then they let us higher paid folks go with nothing. No severance.

They won’t keep you. That’s the point.
