I've been with this organization for about a year now and I think I made one of the worst decisions of my life. Is it just me or is it commonly known this is a place to avoid? A few teams appear happy and most people say its the head leaders that are disconnected and make things worse instead of better. I might look in risk and might leave the bank. It too bad. I was excited for this job.

I am part of the IT Audit team. She is not a leader, not technical, and 90% of the team is really hoping that she’s shown the door.
@2qmq+1joCgbaE - you are spot on! SR definitely has driven IT audit to the ground . Mainframe era mindset. Everything is either an access or change management problem. Repeat issues are welcome . Meaning , audit is raising the same issue again (under a slightly different title).
SR has no tech qualifications obviously . Does not know that a lot of the processing is in the cloud . She thinks cloud is a giant data center . But she will probe and try to prove how correct she is . Her yes men won’t disagree and why would any way try to rock the boat? What a bad way to run. So glad I moved out 4 months back and left this pointless group.
The previous poster is on the money. Some teams are better to be part of than the others. I was in the IT audit team and it was driven into the ground by the woman that took it over. I hear everyone is quitting that team. Avoid it. Most other teams are decent.
I know there are a lot of issues within Audit, but I do think it depends on the team/type of work you are doing and your direct management.
I enjoy what I do within the department, but I know I’d absolutely hate it if I were on any other team doing other types of Audits.

We've been TRYING to tell you all this time. I got out 1.5 years back, after 19.5 years.
If you observe a finding that goes against what is being performed against a MRA, in a normal company, they will address the observation. Here you will be talked down from publishing the observation into a finding. IA is worse then risk, and risk will pay more. These are the types of leadership that got us into trouble in the first place. Things are not going to change. The company is focused on the perception of making progress, then making progress in the correct manner. Anything for better numbers.
20+ years with the company and this is the worst i have ever seen it. Mass exit in February after bonus checks ate received.
Think about your career. Is this the type of company you want to have appear on your résumé? In other words, a scandalous company? If you were hired to clean up the mess or part of a larger PR team, to boost the image, then you joined the right company.
When people ask me what I do for this company, I reply that I’m part of a larger team cleaning up the mess after the scandals. I.e. Hero…
I suffer a lot . Three worst leaders : 2 IT - RS and JM. The latter no clue why she exists . The former , another junior person , need not have been born. What a waste.
The third MM on the business side . Clueless M will mumble something and end with ‘to be honest’, as if everything else was dishonest.
Yup, IA at wells is an afterthought . The previous head was fired . The next lay down her life at work (did not die in combat).
The current incumbent means well but is too new to be measured .
A lot of it has to do with chosing jobs such as internal audit and risk.
This is not the same company I joined years ago. I liked the company I first joined. I’m still here because I’m waiting for that company to return. The company you joined a year ago, is a 180 of what it was when I joined, IMO. Give it a chance. If you begin to hate yourself, then you’ve been here too long. The toxic aspect seeped into your soul…
