Unfortunately costs need to be matched to income. As ling as our UK revenue continues to decline we will need to shrink the workforce overheads accordingly. The Uk IT servuces market continues to be tough at present and unfortunately recent geopolitical developments have not helped.
If they cant distinguish between who is doing managerial work and who is doing tech delivery work it speaks volumes of the quality and ineptitude of the managers.
Then again everyone knows the management are rubbish "yes" men that have brains to grow the company, they are just internally focused cost cutters and this is the reason this company is on the path of decline and eventual failure.
Their policy is to do a quick $h!t job, talk a lot of $h!t buzzwords (that's where the money goes), deliver $h!t, tell the client that the results are everyone else's fault and pay for an army of lawyers to dissuade even the biggest clients from suing them.
No morals, no interest in anything but senior bonuses and a constant round of cost cutting, which mean's no promotions, no bonuses for the workers, no salary increases for the workers, and layoffs for the workers as bean counters try to find a way to increase the multi-million dollar bonuses for C level by getting rid of the "wasteful" expense of actual workers.
DXC are circling the drain and there's no saving them - they are no longer capable of delivering any value - just pretty buzzwords and meaningless complex methodology slide decks. Head for the gates or wait for the inevitable WFR
Had this news confirmed today and don't forget with the job code changes the other year lots of technical people with no managerial responsibilities are defined as managers. So are you a senior techy in UK getting on a bit, from legacy company, why not ask your manager if there's VR going and see what happens, after all you can always say no
Is it just people managers on this round, or can anyone go. A years salary for a job I can't see lasing a year one way or another is compelling. Most of that time will be spent recovering from 20 years of DXC cr-p, which might take some time to undo.
Good if they get rid of inept middle managers; and for the rest of the managers - tender their job for renewal every 2 years and offer 360 full feedback; if their feedback is %$%^^% get rid and replace, good feedback keep
CSC follow standard terms
But I didn’t think it was capped at 20 weeks??
So basically once you hit 20 yrs just leave, because there is no incentive to prolong the pain.
The incentive is £2800
I thought Legacy CSC terms were 1 week every year of service (1.5 for years over 40 years of age). All capped at max of 20 years. Plus whatever ‘generous’ incentive DXC decide to add-on (usually between 2-3k).
good riddance to the unnecessary layer of fat in the UK .
removing pig snouts from the trough .
more money to expand offshore as end of day not moaning and just working..
For those likely interested. Ie been here far too long. It's capped at 20 weeks. Follows standard UK redundancy rules for multipliers based on your age. So I'm most cases your quote from 10 years ago that you didn't take will be the same.
CSC is a weeks salary for each year
It depends on your Ts & Cs, does DXC even have Ts & Cs or is everything still legacy based.
Legacy HP used to get 1 month/year of service, Legacy ES got 1/2/3 weeks per year depending on age at the time, both maxing out at a year. Legacy CSC no idea.
However HR haven't a clue, so you can always ask for more and see what they say. I know several people who kept quiet when they were offered much more than they should have been.
Any severance package for WFR?
What we can be certain of, is that however poorly the company performs, somehow the senior leaders will meet their objectives and be eligible for obscene bonuses and share options.
What about other countries in EU? France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc...?
Just spend your days wa----g off in the toilets mate
How is this sh-tshow company still going…
DXC Newcastle delivery, total shambles.
Which areas and groups is this affecting
@ce+1jny3wt02 The company know this, and seem to want to hold onto you more, the more you want to go. Just to make your life a further misery. I have basically stopped trying this year. The machine decides if you stay or go, so seeing as all they want is the share price to go up, spending as much time on non billable or fixed price tasks may convince it.
Please, Please, please WFR me. I'm dying to get out of this dog mess of a company.
They've classified everyone who was senior as a "manager". Does that mean everyone is eligible to go?
