What is the most recent cvx discovery that cvx developed? Farm-ins and acquisitions don’t count. I want accountability in the new exploration organization. 1 year. No commercial discoveries. Burn at the stake after 1 year of failure.

What did they find in Nigeria? I didn’t hear anything.
There were literally two CVX-operated commercial discoveries just last year in Nigeria and PZ.
Nargis (2023) is still being appraised but will likely be commercial.
Why on earth does anyone think Hess has some deep bench of talent or reserves? If that was true, they’d be acquiring, not acquired. Independents only sell when they know they’re over valued and the future is downhill. Oil and gas is full of irrational optimists, and when they’re getting out, you should look closer…
There was an auto promotion of the younger petrotechs in 2018 while the older very experienced geos got nothing. That angered many of them who would leave not long after.
Hess hasn't done much better. What have they found? They are only doing great because of riding XOM's coattails in Guyana

When your reason for being is finding new sources to maintain replenishment moving all your chips into the Permian is stupidity. Pray that we keep the necessary resources from Hess that can lead to a change in exploration and production.

Anchor was probably leased around 2010, so 24 years ago. An entire generation ago. 14 years after Shell opened up the Lower Wilcox with their BAHA well in 1996.
And the jury is still out as to whether it will produce as hoped to justify the horrible cost.
Chevron doesn't have anyone worth a cr-p who can read and interpret seismic properly. This needs to change with Hess.
