Remove hub-hybrid employees who NEVER come into the office. They are supposed to be in the office 2 days per wk but somehow never show up. Not fair to those of us who follow the rules.
Get rid of employees who take excessive time off throughout the year. I know our FTO is supposed to be somewhat "unlimited" but there are folks who take advantage of this of this policy and are likely out of the office about 2-3 months out of the year., ALWAYS on lengthy vacations every few months. These folks clearly don't have enough work to do. You know who you are.
Remove the managers that received low ipulse scores
Get rid of Associate Directors. No need for them.
Change the reporting structure to horizontal. Too many middle managment folks who don't contribute in a meaningful way. the only way they contribute is by withholding information rather then allowing team members to manage their responsibilities and provide input and possible solutions within project timeline.
The VPs were awarded with special bonuses to make good judgements and keep team motivated at work.
Let's be in the game together! Things will be alright.
It is very same in the US locations. And the smaller the site is, the bigger the ratio between personal-career-focusing-only directors with limited skills and people who actually have a knowledge and do the work. But let’s guess which group is always RIFed first…
Promotion is just tip of the ice berg, there are departments outside US with multi layers of management Director, Assistant director, multiple senior managers and managers running a small department like their own backyard.
Comparing this to successful Lean Manufacturing implementation only one manager is needed to run the department.
The ground personnel will work more effectively without the self imposed unnecessary bureaucratic practices that ki-ls productivity.
Illumina is hiring for project Titanic ! Looking for experienced Icebergs for leadership roles across all departments !
It's puzzling that Man. recently promoted the director to sr. Director and a-s. director to Director, especially when the overall business is declining. The CFO's oversight in this situation seems quite odd. Why added more cost or felt in pressure to do the unjustified promotion?
Too many layers of directors. Sr. Director, Director, Associate Director, with layers of Managers under them. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Way too much.
At Illumina, Senior Director and Director roles within Finance Business Systems Support are needed to make sound judgments regarding hiring and firing employees, retaining consultants, and working on confidential financial projects
Lolz, there is a role like sr. Director and director in FPM team under finance. Most org. has FPM managers.
Obviously this is an example
of mismanaging the corporate budget and bringing the company at this state. Ooh
The EU head is good. The others, I’m not so sure about
If we have GMs now in each country get rid of the regional head - they could report into Everett.
Also, why has the European head stayed after they fired Nicki and Gretchen!?
Fianlly fire the whole china team.
Streamlining of process surely will lead to better productivity and success for the company.
However, the ELT team does not know that the rot happening at the management downstream.
Just imagine, they keep adding fat to their organization by adding new duplicate role with different titles but doing the roles that has been covered by existing supporting department.
An example of hiring for the right role, why hire a female for a role that requires physical lifting beyond her capabilty and when she cannot fulfill it another man is hired as an assistant to her to do the lifting.
Now two persons are doing a person task, shouldn't it be the case to reassign the female to a role more suitable for her and let the man assume her role.
This is just an example as there are too many processes creating waste to list.
Streamlining for Success starts from screening all processes to eliminate waste. Unless the company is determine to do it right first time for speedy recovery or face a longer and tougher route if the status quo persist.

I agree ! It doesn't make sense to me either, in Fnance we have both director and a senior director for systems support overlapped with IT. This seems excessive.
I could not reach the director for system support and the person I have been working with has been laid off.
Most of the redundancy I witness is in the management layer. The people who do the work are stretched thin, trying to keep up with increased workloads, and it gets worse after each layoff because the people who do the work are the ones who get laid off.
no such emails sent out? Troll
Don’t act like this isn’t expected. What do you think has been going on?
Obviously someone trolling
The biggest redundancy is the ELT itself. Their poor decisions and lack of direction have caused more harm than any overlapping roles. If Illumina wants true efficiency, they should start the pinnacle at the top
Was this a company email?
