Performance Improvement Plan

Has anyone been put on a performance improvement plan in the last several years at HCSC? Are they commonly used at HCSC and if so for what? I’m curious if there are any policies about their use and what the implications are for one’s career?

The “implications for one’s career” are that you should start looking for your next employer. They aren’t putting you on a PIP to magically turn you into a high performer, they’re setting you up to fail so they can fire you and have done all the paperwork in advance.

@1grm It could be retaliation if you recently taken the employee engagment survey aka blue pulse providing negative responses rating your management team with a score of 2 or less

@1grm coaching memo is a prelude to the PIP. Effectively it is a warning that a PIP is coming.

if a resource receives a coaching memo does it mean they are going to be fired soon?

I think he is just an inexperienced Youtuber. He needs to organize his thoughts better and stay on track with his narrative. I had AI pick out the timestamps for repeated content to see if the accusation is as bad as stated by the prior commenter. The most repeated topics in the video include:

1) Seeking Legal Advice/Attorney: Rob strongly advises seeking legal counsel due to the circumstances of Tim's firing (10:17-10:25, 13:37-13:42, 15:49-15:58, 22:42-22:46).
2) HR's Absence and Role: The speaker consistently highlights the lack of HR presence as a significant "red flag" and a major failing in Tim's termination (6:54-7:00, 4:09-4:13, 8:01-8:11, 22:06-22:22).
3) Unfairness and Potential Discrimination: Rob repeatedly expresses outrage over the "bait and switch" tactics and suggests that ageism or discrimination played a role in Tim's termination (3:35-3:58, 6:31-6:42, 9:06-9:31).

To the last commentor-Ah, I see. Some concepts require more than 9 minutes to grasp, but thanks for trying!

@1avj I tried to watch and only made it 9 minutes. The repetition of the presenter saying the same thing over and over was painful.

I was put on a PIP, and my advice is don't even try to ramp up performance; just look for another job. They already decided to fire you, chances are it has nothing to do with your performance and they will be changing facts to create a paper trail and use it against you ( in essence rewriting the facts to support a false narrative about your performance) I put my complete story on YouTube

I only know one person but she was clicking on phishing links all the time and redoing the training multiple times until info security got fed up.

You cannot be put on a PIP unless there is a documented history of insufficient performance. That means you've likely received verbal, written, and a 'documented coaching' memo, before you've been placed on a PIP. Basically, you know you haven't been doing your job.

That's why, if you are placed on a PIP, you should be using your time to look for another job, because it is very likely that you will be termed after the 30, 60, or 90 days PIP.

Being on a PiP means they are going to fire you.

Start job hunting ASAP

in my experience, you have to be really egregiously sc--wing up to be placed on a pip. (at least for those of us below director level.)

At HCSC or in your career?

Being placed on a PIP is typically the first step toward termination. In my experience, I’ve only known one person who wasn’t fired after being on a PIP, and their retention wasn’t due to improved performance.
