Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

They Are Lying to You

Of course they know what’s going to happen. Of course the org charts are already finalized or at least very close to it.

They can’t announce what they are going to do specifically because it’s is going to be pretty horrible for the workforce in the US and AUS.

They don’t want a mass exit before they have everything situated in India. They need you to produce just a little longer and give them enough time to ensure they already have onboarded your replacement.

Not what you want to hear but it is the likely scenario.

  • @ar+1jnpqdjh0 but in all honesty, a billion dollar investment in ENGINE and all their answers were "we don't know"? hotel expenses have to be itemized but for that amount all we get is "we don't know"... until now.

They really didn't intend to lie to you. They need to lie to the shareholders and you happened to be in the way. The company cant find oil or execute major projects, so they are going to export all the American jobs to India, which will save us incredible amounts of money until the inevitable chain of disasters start and then the company will crumble like Enron,

Of course they are lying to us, but lying is more dangerous when you are deceived. If you know they are lying, then you cannot be deceived. Follow the rules at work and get your medical appointments, eye glasses, dental appointments, etc. and call in sick more often. What are they going to do, fire you?

I’m seeing the comments regarding how it would take competence for them to plan this ahead of time. And I agree with you.

However, the only thing Chevron leadership has proven is that the only thing they have shown any level of competence in is being incompetent.

I trust them to do a great job planning on how to make things worse.

MB literally said today the STAC org was competed, finalized, and signed. I imagine they won’t say anything until after AEOI is done.

Pour one out for us ABU folks who don’t have access to AEOI, and they haven’t even decided yet whether we can EOI, despite the fact it will be a bloodbath.

If you are remotely close to retirement or another job, take the AEOI. I have no plan to assist leadership in this $h!t show to outsource US based jobs.

I agree with the OP that they have the org charts down to the PM and PO level in most cases because you can see the change in their facial expressions when they attempt to hide the truth with their answers. Probably not all the names yet but the charts have been created by the consultants. I can come up with the boxes in my org chart for my department and I am not a manager, so a person several levels above me should be able to or they are buffoons!

If the executives had that level of cunning and business acumen, the financial metrics versus competitors would be stronger and we wouldn't be routinely copying things Exxon did years ago.

That assumes a LOT more competence than I’ve seem demonstrated by our leaders.
