Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Big security layoffs coming in FY26

SS is cleaning house in EMEA and the Americas! This is long overdue. Half of that organization is completely worthless!

AI is picking off the weak (old) employees

...and is replacing them with images of people with four thumbs. Perhaps it could improve security by scaring away people trying to break in.

A lot of people in my org are looking or at least waiting for a package. So are these layoffs are really going to happen? Been hearing this for a long time…

SS blames everyone else and never looks at himself and his lack of leadership. He was that way at PAN too. Due to his ineffective leadership, he emphasizes performance management to deflect from his inability to grow the business.

What happened to the great leader ship we used to have in the security organization?

SS is a POS. He does not know how to lead. He is bringing his buddies from PAN and the growth is worse before he and red head “f”’d it up. They tried to run the PAN playbook but they have completely failed.

They need a runway of a decade and they would still “f” it up! Sales and product leadership are driving the org into the ground.

Cisco Security is in last place in the top 10 security companies.

Security is getting a lot of runway with big projects that are in the works. At least 3 year runway and hiring in anticipation of growth.

Several products are missing their numbers while others are still too early to market. Wouldn’t be surprised if the next 2-3 yrs are very bumpy.

Next is a mandatory CCNP Security Certification within six months, or out the door.

This is a serious stuff, and your job depends on it. Cisco is a Networking and a Security Company. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

How could our leadership OK the training just released to the field? I think they are just worried about their RSUs and getting the next promo. I am almost out of here. Can't wait!

4% growth is falling further behind the industry...

Since Cisco's revenues aren't going to reach inflation adjusted 2023 levels for years this is over performing at Cisco.

SS has come in after EC. The both of them have been a disaster. EC had no business being in the role. She hired SS. 4% growth is falling further behind the industry and competition. Please LR SS to bring real change and security growth.

I think they are referring to him not her. I’m hearing leadership is finally ready to significantly trim the security org. The layoffs will happen at the end of this fiscal as they always do. Sadly, I think we’re gonna be hit pretty bad and will affect all global managers, overlays and engineers. Typical Cisco, the AI security and hyper shield platforms will take forever to be fully delivered and the competition will pass us by. I think it will be a blessing in disguise for many of us…
