Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Annual Bonuses

Continues to go down year over year In good times the top rewards themselves while rank and file gets the anemic default (if you are lucky). Bad times the rank and file take a further hit while top preserves their take. It is sad that this makes hard working people resigned to do the minimum.

" I also wonder how many older people who are eligible to receive RSU did not this year as well."

That would be me.

I'm getting the sense the older people (even those with stellar track records) who have been here for a very long time are getting significantly less percentage bonus in order to provide high performing younger people with more incentive to stay and older people more incentive to leave. That's not to say the younger people getting high numbers do not deserve it, but that is to say the older people do not deserve this treatment.

I can only speak of course for the few people I know about including myself, but from the last post on here, I may be on to something. I also wonder how many older people who are eligible to receive RSU did not this year as well.

Unfortunately this type of age discrimination is pretty easy to get away with.

I'm OK with my bonus this year considering everything else there is to deal with and worry about, it's not going to make a difference in the big picture. But it is the lowest percentage I have ever received in a very long career with Cigna.

I have been with the company 21 years. The “bonus” I was awarded….. would have been better served as a good old slap in the face. I am absolutely appalled, insulted, and hurt. I have never felt so undervalued, and truly vulnerable in my entire career. I have referred many, many current and former staff members throughout my tenure, and I realize I can no longer stand behind the company I used to be so proud to work for. When someone asks me for a referral, I won’t do it. I can’t do it. They deserve a better opportunity. Honest and fair compensation that is a direct reflection of their worth, value, and capacity in their role….. I won’t do it because of my own bonus….. 48% of target in response to one of the most trying, debilitating, and relentless years. A year filled with so many stretch assignments and extra efforts, which I was voluntold to maintain. I was beaten down with no reprieve. Peers were promoted for seemingly just existing, and I have to be near death and without a pulse in order to ensure a bonus half of what I deserve.

I remember when a Bonus was just that, a bonus to your salary. People have grown too comfortable and expect them to make ends meet. People live to extended beyond their means and rely on bonuses

Don't forget people JE'd between Oct 2024- now received 100% bonus. In the bell curve of bonus payout, they're at the top.

The quitting due to end of remote work didn't work so now they are going to plan B, cr-ppy bonuses.

I remember the years of 190-200% bonuses...they are long gone.

Don't forget that lots of people have been laid off in the last year. You can look at 2024 results but also consider that the bonus pool should go farther with less employees who in many cases are covering the work of the people laid off. Giving someone 60% instead of 80% or 90% is just nickel and diming the masses while the executives still collect their riches.

60% of target for things out of my control.

Agree, highest years back to back and been here a long time. I think a lot of people think they are "hard working people" but their contributions are starting to get reflected in their compensation.

Really? Last year was my highest year by far in many years with the company. This year they were funded less but that was expected given the 2024 results
