Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Couldn't be any closer to the truth....

This place needs to follow suit. This nails the managers I had, particularly the last 5-6 years, right on the head. Throwing themselves into the sales cycle or other sales processes when they add zero value to actually moving the deal or closing it. I've been at or above goal for 15+ years now, I'm pretty sure I can handle it by myself lil' buddy.

  • I’ve had 3 in a row completely incompetent and disinvested sales managers. The most recent went 12 months without scheduling a single team meeting. 1 on 1s non existent as well. Couldn’t have named a single account across the team would be my guess.

12 months? Sheeeeeit. My id--t boss hasn't had a team meeting in 3 years.

Oh, absolutely, 100%. Fresh off a sales kickoff, and yet they contribute nothing of value. They don’t understand the people they supposedly “manage” and selectively decide which questions are worth answering-must be nice to have that kind of luxury. The classic “Let me know if you need help!". All talk, zero follow-through. They have no clue what we do, what we need, or even care to find out. And then, when leadership needs answers urgently, our managers scramble because they’re completely out of touch with their own team’s work. I am embarrassed for them.

There are definite leadership issues in areas of CDW. My teammates and I love our Sales Manager. He isn't the problem. I just wish CDW knew how to fund bad leaders and either coach them up or get them out.
