With negative cash flow even with the infusion of the mobileye IPO, paying a dividend per every outstanding share of 0.365 with 4.1B outstanding shares is gonna be expensive.

Cutting NCG’s is bad optics and it will pi-s off Universities. There is plenty of fat to trim elsewhere. You haven’t contributed to the downfall of Intel yet. Therefore, you are safe for now. Welcome to Intel, it is still a $100B+ company today. Not sure about tomorrow though, but we have Pat as the savior. He better not cut the dividend. If it comes down to cutting dividend or NCG, the latter choice is a no brainer.

My manager implied as a RCG/NCG that I would be safe and to be prepared to take on more work if head counts are affected. I just don’t understand why RCG’s wouldn’t be the first to go. I’m in a role where they have a multi-year growth plan to touch different aspects as the role is complex, but why in a time when you are having headcount reductions would you want to keep someone who is learning vs someone who yes, May cost more, but has been here 5-10 years. RCG also are more likely to leave in a few years vs someone who has been with the company and you can get RCG talent back in the pipeline summer of 2023. Just doesn’t make sense to me from an employee ROI perspective.

interns < RCGs < IC is the perfect world; at intel , slimy, useless, stinky, back stabbing, brown noising, good for nothing, wife/cousin hiring managers rule the roost.

NCG contribute nothing and are in fact a cost liability for a couple of years. In good times the cost is worth it, in bad times what do they contribute?

I've chatted with HR, they said NCG are safe.

But you should leave, why stay at sinking ship.

@1ifq+1jnlpzZj, they could retract the offer but most likely will not. I would try to get couple more offers and go somewhere else if you could. Why would you want to invest your time in a company that's sinking like Titanic. I would not touch this company with a 10ft pole.

Will offers be honored for NCGs joining in January?

Only you're overpaid and not contributing...

NCG are typically never touched unless that group is getting closed …. I’ve been an RCG in ATI/AMD in 2008 when they were firing like crazy and i was untouched, only experienced folks are let gone typically bc of performance reasons …

I seriously doubt they will go after NCG. Leave this company in no longer than 5 years if they don't lay you off by then. PC business always been this way.

If you are at intel you are doomed. Has nothing to do with being a NCG and becoming a shipmate on the Titanic.
